Two bets to add to Oscars Well tomorrow: So Young and Last Instalment. So Young shaped as if further would suit him at Cheltenham, when he stayed on well after making a bad mistake at the last. Something must have been amiss at Punchestown and I’m sire the Mullins yard will be disappointed if he doesn’t continue their rich vein of form.
Last Instalment won well last time out at Galway when he handled the bad ground best of all to beat Alpha Ridge with somthing up his sleeve. I’m not sure if Donnas Palm want 2m6f on heavy ground, something which Last Instalment is certainly built for.
€30 win So Young @ 4/6 (PP)
€20 win Last INstalment @ 11/8 (PP)+ €26.92
November 20, 2011 at 14:23 #378834Two easy winners in So Young and Last Instalment. Oscars Well could live with Thousand Stars there, so he wouldn’t have a hope against Hurricane Fly. Hard to know where he goes from here. I presume for Thousand Stars all roads lead to a crack against Big Bucks.
Last Instalment returns €47.50
So Young returns €50+ €124.42
November 20, 2011 at 14:41 #378839Just taken the 8/1 with PP for Thousand Stars to win the World Hurdle.
WORLD HURDLE: Thousand Stars €10 e/w @ 8/1
+ €104.42
Cheltenham Ante-Post:
ARKLE: Peddlers Cross, €20 win @ 8/1
WORLD HURDLE: Thousand Stars, €10 e/w @ 8/1
GOLD CUP: Quito De La Roque, €10 win @ 25/1November 21, 2011 at 17:20 #378999Two easy winners in So Young and Last Instalment. Oscars Well could live with Thousand Stars there, so he wouldn’t have a hope against Hurricane Fly. Hard to know where he goes from here. Last Instalment returns €47.50
So Young returns €50+ €124.42
Two very impressive winners, Last Instalment is virtually unopposable on soft or softer at the moment, certainly one to follow this winter imo, would be more worried come festival time on better ground.
November 23, 2011 at 12:29 #379320Hard to know how Gigginstown are going to keep their better novices apart. Really looking forward to Sir Des Champs, as I think he could be the best of them.
At Cork today I’m backing Kempes. Evidently something was amiss on his last two starts last year but he has far more class that these. Psycho could put it up to him over 2 miles but if he can’t beat New Phase receiving 7lbs I’d say Willie Mullins will be disappointed.
€20 win Kempes @ EVENS 2 place insurebet (Paddy Power)
November 23, 2011 at 13:05 #379324Good luck thm (not too much though as I’m on Psyhco!) Think he may have too much speed for Kempes (who won’t be fully wound up for this imo) also Ruby has a great record on board Psyhco.
We’ll see soon!
November 23, 2011 at 13:13 #379325Good luck to you too Pants, if Kempes gets beaten hopefully it will just be by one so I’ll get my money back!
November 23, 2011 at 13:21 #379327Cheers, Kempes been backed in off the boards! Now fave, not looking promising for me if the market is anything to go by!
November 26, 2011 at 14:22 #379745Carruthers was 6th in the Hennessy last year off a 13lb higher mark, 16/1 today

€5 e/w Carruthers @ 16/1
November 26, 2011 at 15:10 #379753Have had €5 win on Wayward Prince @ 7/1 too.
NAP of the day is Hey Big Spender at Newcastle: he wouldn’t be out of place in the Hennessy and having a large punt on him:
€22.50 e/w Hey Big Spender @ 9/2
November 26, 2011 at 15:40 #379760Very well done thm, excellent stuff.
November 26, 2011 at 15:46 #379761Thanks Venture

I was hovering my mouse over Overturn @ 7/2 all week, and was on the verge of backing Rock On Ruby @ 6s this morning, so I thought it was going to be ‘one of those days’ when I decided against backing them. Thankfully that has not been the case!
Kempes – €20
Carruthers + €100
Wayward Prince – €5
Hey Big Spender + €121.50+ €320.92
November 26, 2011 at 17:11 #379780Great minds sort of think alike.

Had both Overturn 11-4’s & Rock on Ruby 13-2 today in a mug 31/ew acca. Both won really well, I’m sure your wins will soften the blow of missing them.
Was getting excited cause had em along with Call The Police 4-5, and Five Dream (acca only) @ 33’s. Too good to last though, 1833 was poor, really fancied him, and had Humbie in Hey Big Spenders race (I think Humbies just crossing the line as I type this). In hindsight HBS was a great price @ 9-2, well spotted. I ended up with stake back and some pennies.
On the subject of Rock On Ruby, what did you think of him? I’m on him at the big prices for The Champion Hurdle up to 200’s, and laid off some of it today. Not saying he’s going to win it, but I’m hoping for a run for my money.
November 26, 2011 at 18:24 #379792I’d say you were getting excited then alright! The thing about the Champion Hurdle is if for some reason Hurricane Fly doesn’t run, it’s wide open.
If he runs then I couldn’t back against him, but he has has a setback and if he’s not right, Willie Mullins won’t run him, of that I’m certain.
Rock On Ruby was very good today, but his last three runs last year were over 2 1/2 miles, so I’m guessing Paul Nicholls feels he’ll be better stepped back up in trip. I’ve a feeling he could get caught for speed in the Champion.
Of the remainder, Spirit Son and Grandouet have to be repected, while if Hurricane Fly misses it Thousand Stars would be favorite in my book. That victory in France looks to have really crowned him and he still seems to be improving. For financial reasons I hope he goes for the World Hurdle though

Have you backed anything for Cheltenham yet or keeping the powder dry for the time being?
November 26, 2011 at 18:47 #379801Really think Mount Benbulben could go to the top. Davy Condon is an able deputy for Paul Carberry who rides Texas Jack.
€20 win Mount Benbulben @ 5/2 (Ladbrokes)
+ €300.92
November 26, 2011 at 18:49 #379802Price gone as I type, 9/4 best available now with Paddy Power.
November 26, 2011 at 18:50 #379804I like TEXAS JACK myself but good luck with your tip. and we both happy today as we both had Hey Big Spender.
