Good day all, PETE, MIKE AND CRIZZY, it appears that again we have a lot on our plate this week  , not satisfied with Eight Tournaments last week they have gone one better this week, just the Nine to attempt to sort out, as last week all help will be greatly appreciated, so any one else who has an opinion is more than welcome to have there say.

So off we go again, as with last week not ducking the Challenge some Tournaments will have just the One Selection.

Will begin this week with the Vodacom Origins Of Golf Tour which is this weeks offering from the Sunshine Tour, having just come of the website I believe this begins Tomorrow, and as with previous weeks it will be the better the devil you know approach here so first up will be Darren Fichardt.

On next to the Phillipines Open, again single handed this time in the shape of Frankie Minoza, had thought about Master Wiratchant but Frankie I thought at the Price represents slightly better value.

Moving on to the Abierto Visa De La Republica, picking up the Baton here will be James Heath although Daniel Vancsik is a worthy favourite and I might yet have a savour :) .

The Livermore Valley comes in next, 2 handed here Brendon De Jong and Ryan Palmer fly the flag here the latter as my youngest is called Ryan, so a lot resting on his plate this week  .

On next to the Inaugural running of the Ladies European VCI Golf Cup, teams which can be found on the Ladies European Tour Website if you have not come across them already, Denmark and England are Joint Favs and having looked long at it I have found it very difficuilt to find any alternatives.

The Cap Cana Championship is this weeks offering for the Seniors and after last week do we look past Bernhard, the answer probably not but at the Price I will put him in with Denmark and England in a couple of Doubles.

Right moving on to the Main Dishes for me this week and I will kick off with the Open De Estoril, a case of De Ja Vu here in that I will give my three from last week another outing, those being Johan Edfors, Simon Dyson and Joost Luiten, the latter showed enough last week to suggest that he will get his name on the scoreboard at somepoint, I had thought about Rory Mcilroy this week but have decided to pass him over on this occasion.

Up next the first Major of the Ladies Tour and the Kraft Nabisco, as I have had a few rounds on the Nabisco Golf recently the pressure is on me here :) .

I have to Admit I thought Lorena would be a touch shorter but at the Price she is almost worth going all in, but whilst the probable winner I as usual will be looking elsewhere.

I am going to give Annika a run out this week as I think the challenge might spur her on, then I’m sure the same could be said of the rest, no prizes for guessing my next selection that being the Pink Panther Paula Creamer, so here’s hoping that Inspector Clouseau is on the case :) .

Finally for this and having thought long and hard I am prepared to give last years Winner Morgan Pressel a chance to bring home the Rum Again as by Sunday evening I will probably be in need of some liquid substance, whatever may be available at the time :) .

Finally for this week and the Shell Open and as the saying goes Houston we have a problem  as I really have no idea here as I’m sure that most will be fine tuning themselves for next weeks event at Augusta National.

As I said last week some of the ones that I follow pretty regularly will be doing the deed for me there, but somebody has to triumph this week, you just get the sneaky feeling that Phil Mickelson will be up there come Sunday evening, but for me I will be going in again with Hunter Mahan, Anthony Kim and Bubba Watson will complete the voting here, a touch predictable I know given recent Tournaments, but I believe that all three went well in this last year.

Well that will do for me for now so as always whatever your picks BE LUCKY.

    Cheers for now.

    Adrian.

Good luck Adrian. Last week was a bit of a disaster so let’s hope for a better return this week. I’m going through a purple patch on the horses at the moment so I’ve gone a bit golf crazy and I’m betting on 5 tournaments which is the highest amount that I have ever done in one week …….I’ll probably regret it this sunday evening :(

Over in the USA, it’s the Shell Houston Open which is a long par 72 course with plenty of water hazards which may expain why Woody Austin is not playing  This event is usually won by one of the good established players so there may not be a victory by an outsider and the only shock will be if I manage to back the winner :)
One guy who loves this tournament is Stuart Appleby who won it in 2006 and may have won it last year if he had not found the water on the last hole. My money will not be on him though so I expect that he will be lifting the winning trophy this sunday.
I don’t often bet on defending champions but Adam Scott often plays well at courses where he has previously won so my money is on him even though I am not impressed by the odds of 12/1.
I noticed that Hunter Mahan has played well at this event previously ( 5th in 2007 and 11th in 2006 ) so he is my next choice. I’ll also bet on Aaron Baddeley and hope for an improved performance from Trevor Immelman who has played reasonably well at this event in the past.

In the Estoril Open de Portugal, I’ve bet e/way on Soren Kjeldsen at 33’s who deserves a change of luck and played well at the WGC-CA in the USA recently. I was also going to bet on an exciting young dutch player who Adrian also seems to rate by the name of Joost Luiten but he is now a non starter. I’ve therefore replaced him with Mikko Ilonen.

The first major of the year for the ladies is the Kraft Nabisco Championship which Lorena will probably win but I’ll go e/way again and hope for some returns from Jee Young Lee at 45/1 and I could not resist the 18’s about Paula Creamer.

Down on the Sunshine tour in SA, it’s the Vodacom Origins Bloemfontein which takes some pronouncing. The bookies have not priced this event up yet and may not do so. If they do then my e/way choices are George Coetzee together with Hendrik Otto but only if his odds are 7/1+

Finally in the Phillipines Open I’ve bet e/way on the australian Scott Barr and the promising local Juvic Pagunsan.

    Happy punting :)

    Pete
