February 11, 2005 at 10:13 #56402Hi Seagull,
Do you find that any particular time of the season throws up the big prices more than any other or is there no pattern at all?
I just wondered wether certain trainers might have horses that run a few times below par, only to suddenly put them into an ideal race and pull off a bit of a coup. Or wether others may have their coups at the start of a season before anyone really knows what’s hit them.
Have any patterns emerged over the years?
February 11, 2005 at 10:42 #56403Hi snowman<br>there is a small book published every year trainer stats by Raceform (half price at the mo at £7.50) at the end of the book they list leading trainers by month they also list the profit /loss s/r etc which is the clue to it all i.m.o. for example they show Sir M. Stoute as leading trainer in May since 1999-2003 a level stake pound in just that month shows a return of £101.00
February 12, 2005 at 03:27 #56404Thanks Seagull – sounds well worth a read for that monthly list alone :)
