I was informed by the trainers daughter, who looked after Theatre, that he died this morning, he had shattered his pelvis…he ran his last race in the last at Lingfield 04/01/07..

January 6, 2007 at 11:36 #81415Sad news. I saw that he broke down when running at Lingfield this week – hope the very testing ground had nothing to do with it. Theatre had been around for a few years and I remember him winning at Newbury back in 2003. He improved last summer ( came 7th in the Cesarewitch ) and looked a good recruit to the jumps scene. ÂÂÂ
January 7, 2007 at 23:31 #81416Not sure what contributed to it, but he had shattered his pelvis and broke his lower back, most cases like this would have been PTS on the spot, but guess they was trying to save him, he never left the course, and died in the arms of the trainers daughter who looked after him and doted on him….she is heartbroken. He would have never survived anyhow, he had nerve damage to his spinal cord, so had no control over his hind legs….
