That one where he backed Joe Lively was fairly lucky wouldn’t you say.
February 1, 2008 at 21:40 #139545Just worked it out – he has given different people different horses so one of them was bound to win. The woman featured is just the one who happened to have been given all five winners. Presumably hundreds of other people were given tips that lost
February 1, 2008 at 21:42 #139547I think the coin toss ‘revelation’ says everything…
February 1, 2008 at 21:45 #139548good tuffers!!!
February 1, 2008 at 21:47 #139549good tuffers!!!
I think you’ll find that Derren Brown’s point is that this is the basis on which lots of tipping lines are run
February 1, 2008 at 21:48 #139550Hang on, how is this a system? ? ?
He gives out 4 tips, and 1 of those 4 wins.
I.e. 25%.
This 1 person gets 5 winners in a row, surely she has just got extremely lucky? ? ?
February 1, 2008 at 21:49 #139551I told you it was all full of sh1t.
I thought his system guaranteed winners – he’s just told us he has gave about 5,000 people a loser

I guarantee that if I picked every horse in a race I would pick a winner
– then if I picked every horse in the next race, I would pick another winner etc
7,776 people started. The system is successful for one person but 7,775 eventually back losers despite Brown at the start of the show GUARANTEEING his system works.
Any one else feel cheated

February 1, 2008 at 21:50 #139553That is the point, Gaz, no such system can exist except in the mind of those in receipt of the information and, as Tuffers says, it’s something tipsters pray on in order to turn £7.50 profit per call.
February 1, 2008 at 21:50 #139554Deary me.

Derren Brown hates charlatans and loves to expose them. He’s basically saying that next time someone tells you they have a system for picking winners be aware that it’s a scam

February 1, 2008 at 21:53 #139558One of the oldest tipping scams going.
Congrats Mr. Brown.
That’s 52 minutes of my life wasted, by choice of course.
February 1, 2008 at 21:53 #139560I suggest we wait for the twist……..
February 1, 2008 at 21:55 #139562The twist is that the horse gets beat, but Brown gives the woman her money back (and more) and we all get the ‘feel good factor’

February 1, 2008 at 21:57 #139564Bet it is to bet on Mardima or something.
February 1, 2008 at 21:58 #139565Oh what a suprise.
February 1, 2008 at 22:00 #139566Bet it is to bet on Mardima or something.
Like she didn’t notice the name of the horse on the slip despite looking at it for ages and ages prior to the race.
It’s obvious he put four grand on each of the four runners and gave her the winning slip at the end – but he won’t tell you that, he’ll let you believe he is psychic and his sytsem guarantee’s winners and that he predicted the winner of a four runner race

I wish I’d have got out after 52 minutes, I stayed for the full gig – that’s 59 minutes
