Always enjoy this race and we’ve got some really good entrants this year…
Auroras Encore, Brooklyn Brownie, my old boy Knowhere and the amazingly consistent Take The Stand among others!
Shame there’s no Ollie Magern, Keenans Future or Companero entered, but i reckon we have a good renewal this year…
June 21, 2010 at 18:51 #15432Auroras Encore the topweight, 148. Gone up 9 lbs for winning at the course, 3m, 2000 Guineas day. Doubts exist whether the horse stays this far, but it didn’t stop me betting it in the Scottish National. Trainer apparently not in much form.
The one that sticks out to me at first looking is Valley Ride, trained by the man, Bowen. Won its warm up hurdle race.
Has previous with Auroras Encore, at Ayr last year. 18 lbs better off for a 13 length beating, FWIW.
June 21, 2010 at 21:15 #302537Lightning quick jumping ground, lovely, will get suckered into backing That’s Rhythm again on this surface
June 21, 2010 at 21:54 #302544Gerald,
I see there are two threads about this race, but as you have started yours first, it’s only fair to reply to yours
. I do love this race, and now I know why you have zero interest in the Irish Derby! Anyhow, I like the profile of Sheriff Hutton, ran a cracker over hurdles behind Markington at Aintree carrying top weight on his last start.JohnJ
June 22, 2010 at 13:39 #302638Oh, I wouldn’t say I have no interest in the Irish Derby. I’ll watch it to see what measures Ballydoyle resort to to ensure that no other horse wins.
June 22, 2010 at 16:10 #302660After a first quick glance I like to look of Clifton Debut, second highest RP rating, stays longer than the mother-in-law and he’ll just make the cut even if there are no withdrawls from the top half of the handicap
June 27, 2010 at 07:41 #303318I’d love to see Brooklyn Brownie go well, think he might still have it in him, and the 40’s looks too good to resist each way. I’ll also go for a win Ouzbeck at the 16’s.
June 27, 2010 at 10:58 #303338That’s Rhythm
– has threatened to land a decent one which means he probably never will
and
Mumbles Head
, ok the Weapons run is not what it looks but he’d shown he was useful prior to that and the money has arrived, not a bad thing for a Bowen runner.

June 27, 2010 at 11:08 #303340I agree with BB, Mumbles Head for me.
June 27, 2010 at 11:16 #303341Desite RP slightly modifying their ratings I’ll stick with CLIFTON DEBUT, on Irish form the 25-1 represents far better value than the favourite
June 27, 2010 at 11:33 #303345Woah, I just spotted Knowhere at 33/1.
The obvious concerns about jumping and the trip aside, surely NTD wouldn’t keep the old boy going through the summer unless he had a chance.
