Amazing the effect adreneline can have on a horse when they are injured…

It was indeed a really horrible incident – one minute The Pretender was going to win his race, the next he was hobbling on three legs trying to follow the others. Adrenelin does indeed kick in but I hope they put him out of his misery quickly. Poor boy RIP
PS: I’m not sure why the above initial comment re the jockey
he didn’t help the horse in any way to get that jump right.. i wonder if he saw it himself… ah well, RIP
I believe it took some time to catch the poor horse – I don’t know if it was jockey error – can’t watch it all again to check that – the aftermath still too vivid in my mind – but from what I saw initially I would say that the horse was going easily, virtually had the race won, rather dived at the hurdle and leg broke as he landed/stumbled and then turned over.
