First two bets are ante post bets
BRANDEN GRACE 66/1
When looking at the open last December i felt Grace was over priced based on that he was brought up with links golf.Had proven himself in majors at US Open and USPGA. and in 2016 been going great won on both tours Qatar masters and RBC Heritage both courses are where links players excel. And for me Grace can win open this week
DUSTIN JOHNSON 18/1 Ante post
Always felt DJ was going to break major duck in open championship should of won it when Darren Clarke won it.And last year was awesome after 36holes but in end fell away.He done a lot of that this year to but in month before US Open he really play well one reason i tipped him up for US open glory. But since that win he won WGC Bridgestone when it was world no1 Jason Day who lost lead on final day.Big hitting DJ has proved to be world class player but now can get over the line in big events i expect him to go off fav.
ADAM SCOTT 25/1
Won Honda classic and Doral this year the honda classic is like harbour town which Grace won this year is a links style layout so those who went well there over the years need a second look.Scott has fell of a cliff this year since those early season wins. But has good form at the open should of won when chucking lead away to Els.Was bang in there when Mickleson won and even last year was there on final day.Scott will win a open championship could be this year
MATT KUCHAR 66/1
Never won a major before but can win big titles he won a players championship in 2012.Kooch has been finding form over the last month decent finish at Bridgestone. But other reason i like him has form on links courses just look at record at Harbour town a winner there and has lots of placed form there. Not only that was 2nd behind Rickie Fowler in Scottish open last year.Kooch will go well this week.
RUSSEL KNOX 100/1
This player has form at Harbour town and Honda was 2nd behind Grace this year. And lost a playoff at Honda classic few years ago.Knox has a top 3 in irish open this year as well winning big title won WGC in Asia last year he not a big hitter but has the right profile and game to win a open championship. He finish well on final round Scottish open to.
LUKE DONALD 150/1
Never won a major but if ever does it be this title a wonderfull player who has lost form but shown class this year was 2nd behind Grace at harbour town. And for me i feel troon will suit him can spark him back into life i think he suprise many this week by going very well.
Byeoung Hun was on my list but his form not been good in 2016.Brooks Koepka got injured. Not saying Day,Rory or Speith cant win this week i just feel i better value elsewhere.
Also i got a bet on David Lingmerth at 150/1 to win open championship i dont fancy him but last month when did us open bets in Ladbrokes the man in shop gave me a bet for him to win open and not us open that i asked for. only saw mistake a few days later by him.
Any bets you guys and sure bob be in here to.
July 11, 2016 at 16:26 #1255496I have backed two of yours Darren. Not that that is necessarily a good thing we did both have Jaidee that won. I hope having backed the winner last year at 100/1 I can follow it up this year.
MATT KUCHAR 70/1
Looks about ready to win a big one!
DUSTIN JOHNSON 9/1
I don’t usually bet them this short but DJ could be on a great roll at the moment.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD 400/1
A speculative one this but I think this guy is gonna be a good player and I hope it is now.
RICKY FOWLER 33/1
Does well in majors generally and maybe this is THE one.
JIM FURYK 100/1
Solid play by Jim could be the key round here.Oh and by the way five of the last six winners here were Yanks so thats why I am loaded with Americans.
GOOD LUCK
July 11, 2016 at 16:41 #1255497Good luck Darren & Raymo, you’ll be pleased to know I won’t be putting the curse on any of your picks.
Kind of lost my way with the golf, but I just love The Open, and no way I’m not having a bet.
Small ew bets with the books only, but I’ll be a bit bolder with the big prices on the exchanges. Only time I really bet on Golf now, so no harm in a few extra quid “invested”.
George Coetzee – Nothing too scientific in this approach. Won a right few quid off of him 2 years back, in running, so as long as he traps every year, I’ll continue to follow him, as not the only time he’s performed well in this.
Each Way 8 Places at 300’s. 510’s on The Exchanges.Robert Streb – Very low profile, but did well in his only attempt, 2 years back. He caught my eye then, and also managed a top 10 in one of the other majors that year. You never know.
Each Way 7 Places at 400’s. 620’s on The Exchanges.Brandt Snedeker – Very in and out, but has plenty of top 10 finishes in The Majors to his name, and hope he’s on a going week. Big price if he is.
Each Way 7 Places at 90’s. 100’s on The Exchanges.July 11, 2016 at 23:58 #1255514Lee Westwood @ 50-1. Always finishes there or thereabouts and hopefully will be in contention on Sunday afternoon.
Louis Oosthuizen @ 45-1. Previous winner and tied for 2nd last year plus he won earlier this year in Australia.
Marc Leishman @ 80-1. Tied for 5th and 2nd in the last two years.July 13, 2016 at 13:45 #1255655SERGIO GARCIA 40/1 (ante post)
After discussing long term fancies for the Majors with Darren back in January I
had a few quid on Sergio at 40/1. He still has the game to win a Major and his
recent form, 3rd in the Open De Espana, T5 in the US Open and T5 in the bmw
International, show that he is on top of his game at the moment.BRANDON GRACE 33/1
I wish I had had the presence of mind to take him at the 66/1 that Darren grabbed
him at months ago, but 33/1 is still really good value for a player that has a
great game for links golf. He was the same as Sergio, T5 in the US Open, and
3rd round aside he had a nice pre Open tournament at the Scottish Open finishing
T29.DANNY WILLET 60/1
I don’t think Willet is a one hit wonder, with his win at the Masters, I think he
has the game and the temperament to add to his maiden Major triumph. He does have
to bounce back from 2 pretty dismal events in the BMW International and the Open
de France, where he missed the cut in both, but 60/1 is far too big for a player
of his calibre. As per usual, I’ll stick to just a few to keep my powder dry in case it all goes
pear shaped by the half way stage, but I’m hopeful one of the 3 can pull it off.Best of luck to all
July 13, 2016 at 17:42 #1255844Darren, Graeme, most of the guys at my work are all on Brandon Grace………..though not a sniff of that 66’s haha.
July 13, 2016 at 17:58 #1255847Bob you should of show them my sports thread in December they been on Grace at 66s then mate
And mate i know you said you be working but any hope of telling boss you feel sick then go for the weekend at Troon Bob
July 13, 2016 at 17:59 #1255848BigG and Bob good luck this week and you as well Raymo
Also BigG any reason not on Scott i thought you put him up in your bets

Hi Darren, I put up Scott for the Masters, Jason Day for the US Open, Sergio
for the Open and Bubba Watson for the for the US PGA. But you’re right, I have
bleated on about Scott for the past few months. He did me very well at the start
of the year, and I thought he would go on and win many more after his wins at
the Honda Classic and WGC-Cadillac Championship, but he has been out of the
money in his last 8 starts. I kind of gave up a bit, even though he definitely
has an A+ game when he gets it right. So there you go, you have sowed the seeds of doubt in me and I would hate to be
kicking myself if he ran away with this, so I’m now adding him to my above 3 and
hoping he gets his mojo back
ADAM SCOTT 22/1 Betfred
July 16, 2016 at 17:31 #1256270Is it a two horse race now???
Or can anyone shoot 65 and put the top two under pressure??

I think it’s very likely between the 2 of them Raymo. It is possible that
both could have a bad round, 3 or 4 over, which would open it up for a shock,
but I can’t really see that happening. If they did I think Haas might have a
squeak, but I’m not for a punt on that. I’m just hoping Sergio can have a decent
last round and maybe get into the money, he needs to get into top 6 for me.Maybe DJ can have one of his amazing rounds and get into the money for yourself
Raymo and Darren. Not sure if you took him e/w, I’d imagine Darren would have as
he took him at 18/1 ante post.Good luck anyway with him. I’d imagine they will probably have betting without
Mickelson and Stenson in the morning, there’s probably about 10 that would be
in with a shout in that market. If I take something I’ll post it tomorrow.July 16, 2016 at 19:51 #1256278At halfway stage i put up STENSON at 33/1 to win USPGA in my thread i expect him to win open he should see off Mickleson.Next major only 2weeks away now.STENSON big chance there thought got FOWLER and THOMAS Ante post to.
July 16, 2016 at 19:51 #1256279I have to agree G. I do hope they have a bet without market and then I can throw some more money at it!!
July 16, 2016 at 20:03 #1256282i leave it myself mate we need a Snedeker from the farmers insurance round to get our bets back into it

Haha, I remeber that amazing round so well Darren, I thought we were dead and buried before it. Highlight
of the season for me. I doubt lightning will strike twice, but never say never
July 17, 2016 at 09:47 #1256369The highlights program was very good I thought.
I don’t normal watch any golf so it may be that good every time but it told you all you needed to know ie score, hole, par, how many shots taken so far on that hole and the hawkeye on teeing off was the first time I had seen that with golf and was good for the casual viewer with bad eyesight.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 17, 2016 at 11:28 #1256390I have backed JB HOLMES 7/1 and PATRICK REED 16/1 without the front two three places to give me an interest.
