    HAMISH trained by William Haggas.

Followed up a win in the Melrose by doddling up in another 1m 6f handicap at York’s autumn meeting. I was rather surprised when he subsequently found one too good at Newbury in Trueshan, but the two were 14 lengths clear of the other pair and Alan King’s charge looks decent. Hamish is qualified for the Ebor so that could be his target as his trainer has a very good record at York. At the end of his three-year-old racing he still looked as if there was a bit more scope for strengthening so I’m hoping he will kick on when he re-appears.

Interested to read today in JG interview that Logician suffered from peritonitis over the winter and they were lucky not to lose him, so he would not have been on the track before this autumn anyway. Thank goodness they managed to save his life. Hopefully he will recover fully.
Had been wondering why he wasn’t entered in anything :-(
