We won 3 golds 1 silver 1 bronze are best boxing performance for a hundred years and yet people are disgusted? Fred Evans got battered by the Kazakhstani but apart from those three rounds I thought we done extremely well. Nicola Adams dominated every round she fought in and how many world no.1’s or Beijing Olympic champions did we dispose of… Loads.
Anthony Joshua was battered in the first and second rounds but he managed to pull back a 3 point deficit to draw level in the last and take it to count back. If count back was also level then I do feel the judges preference would of been Roberto Cammarelle’s.
To be honest I was disgusted with Fred Evans defensive style, if you play defensive you have to counter and he simply didn’t have the feet work and agility to counter. Campbell was the most impressive of our 7 male boxers he looked sharp all the way through the competition.
Joshua has won 40 of his 43 amateur matches and at only 22 or 23 he has a big future ahead of him, He’s stated he wants to remain amateur for another year to win the world super-heavy weight championship that he won silver in 2011 (disposing of Cammarelle en route to the final).
