Then there’s the biggest problem for bookmakers – exchanges.
Excellent post in general, GInge, and it raises many salient points.
The above, however, is my personal bête noire; I cannot stand the exchanges and firmly believe that they have ruined not only bookmaking as a skill (from both the bookies’ and punters’ perspectives) but the sport in general- however, that’s an altogether different story.
I no longer bet on a day-to-day basis, opting instead for ante post betting only, so don’t follow all the daily concessions offered by bookies; I acknowledge that they face a struggle to remain competitive in such an overcrowded market, yet find it difficult to reconcile that with someone like Denise Coates earning obscene amounts of money. Surely if they’ve got over £200 million to spare, some of that could find its way to punters- without whom Ms Coates wouldn’t have much of a business left.
November 19, 2017 at 11:02 #1327577Oh what a bummer …….. just put ATR on for The Sunday Forum and it looks like I’ve missed most of it as it started at 10AM
November 19, 2017 at 11:18 #1327578You didn’t miss much Slowly Away – McCririck, Lensio, Peter Thomas and Sir Bob.
November 19, 2017 at 15:20 #1327635Yes, I’m not that fussed about missing the Sir Bob editions ……… it’s a bit painful watching him !
In the past I have rooted around the website and found a replay but think I’ll just give it a miss this week
