One of the best live groups we ever saw – great fun.
November 26, 2008 at 14:46 #192260Firefox – I think I’m going to Magazine gig in London, all being well. I’ll drop you a line nearer the time if so.

November 27, 2008 at 13:54 #192527That’s what I’m still to confirm! Some friends of Mrs C bought half a dozen en bloc as soon as they came out, but I can’t remember for which date they said they’d been able to secure them. Demand was understandibly high. Confirmation to follow.

December 17, 2008 at 04:30 #9665I liked the John Foxx era Ultravox myself
January 8, 2009 at 05:26 #202460I first got into Ultravox as a teenager watching ‘Vienna’ on TOTP, but I wasn’t heavily into them until my music taste ‘matured’ a few years later. I used to visit record fairs in the mid to late 1980s, and managed to get hold of quite a lot of Ultravox stuff, however, purely by accident, I bought some John Foxx Ultravox stuff, and some of it is pure class – ‘The Wild, The Beautiful and The Damned’ is an absolute classic. Regarding the Midge Ure Ultravox, my fave song has to be ‘New Europeans’, which, if I remember correctly, was only released in Japan.

Did anyone see the Star Stories episode on Bono over Christmas; in the Live Aid bit, every time Midge Ure spoke (sense), Bob Geldof would shout "**** OFF MIDGE! Just make the ******’ tea!!" or suchlike. Funnier than I’ve just made it sound."
January 8, 2009 at 20:25 #202555Gavin And Stacey referenced Midge Ure and his brand of cheese over Christmas.

No he doesn’t/didn’t. Saw him a few years ago in a very small venue where it was just him with a keyboard and a guitar, and the audience could ask him questions. Very humourous and modest man.
Reap The Wild Wind was one of my favourites.January 10, 2009 at 00:44 #202850I’d like to just point out that this means nothing to me…
