Can anyone explain to me why Fallon has made the shortlist for the flat jockey of the year award ?
I can understand the reasoning behind Hanaghan, Hughes and even Queally, but why Fallon ?
He never challenged for the jockeys title, didn’t ride any classic winners, I cannot even recollect many Group 1 winners, nor was he shortlisted for the ride of the year category, so it cannot be that either. Surely Ryan Moore is more deserving for Derby, King George, Arc, etc.
In my view Fallon was largely underachieving until around September, but what do I knowIts f***ing ridiculous that Ryan Moore wasn’t nominated
The rides on Snow Fairy and Workforce would be enough never mind anything else
When he gets his title back next year can we forget Hanagan and Hughes again
Think we need to know what the nomination process was, all seems a bit cloak and dagger. It immediately stood out Moore wasn’t nominated, similarly a few years ago I was puzzled why Tom O’Brien didn’t win conditional let alone be nominated for it.

This does seem most peculiar. Why a jockey who has ridden his first winners of the
Arc
,
Derby
,
Oaks
in one year (plus two high profile international races in Japan and Hong Kong) doesn’t even get nominated rather beggars belief.
The desire to choose a more media-friendly mug may, alas, have something to do with it. If so, shame on the Lesters committee: they’ve devalued their awards this year by excluding Moore.

so presumably his colleagues think it worth marking his winner total in 2010 given "the unpleasantness" that interrupted his riding:
