September 13, 2022 at 18:53 #1614642I did some trawling and did uncover this little gem. I do remember wanting to ask LRM back then, what the specific arrangements that had been planned over the the previous fourteen days were about the handover, but it was a very sensitive time with the sudden loss of Craig and so I respectfully remained silent.
Could it possibly have been a profit sharing relationship or a staggered sale ? The lost link on the other thread seemed to suggest a gift but this post leaves it open. Debs did not have to spell it, out and clearly did not want to, and yes, maybe she considered it a private matter, but I think it was very unfair if there was ( and possibly still is) a continuing business relationship, not to be very clear to spell it out. I suggest the unclarity put David Cormack in a rather difficult position for the future. I feel it was important to be very open about who owned the site and what the relationship was and the terms.
That’s my twopenneth. It is so long ago and this mystery – whatever is written now will always remain submerged for me. I have pondered over it for years and come to no clear answer. Any words written now are too late.
The racing club was a closed thread only open to members back then. I often wondered what they were talking about, and didn’t really see why it should be secret. Obviously they may have been planning various coups I did eventually find a deep throat, willing to share some of the inside, but the fact that I should even care, is as bit worrying.
I doubt I’ll ever join a click – I am just not the right sort of person – possibly because I’m a jabberer.
