In the opening maiden at dundalk 1.35pm
This runner looks to be above average.
Second to Perotan who has gone on to win again and race in listed and group class rated over 104. Also that day ahead of Ark.
Ridden that day by Colin Keane for Ger Lyons.
Ado McGuiness has him now. He has a seven pound claimer on board which puts him in at 8/11.
Wether that is too light a weight to carry here remains to be seen, but has the low weight aligned to one of the highest draws so can run wide and be seen to good effect finishing wide and late.
Raced in France on heavy ground, has plenty of experience to bring to the fore here. Always highly competitive these maidens.Happy valley 1245

Has switched yards and George Boughey is very good at improving newcomers.
The race King’s Gem has come out of looks top notch in the context of this race given that King’s Gem finished just behind the Horris hill runner up.
Runners all around have gone on to win and the assessment of low 80s suggest this recently gelded runner has got in very lightly here.
Southwell not the normal weapon of choice for the baby faced assassin’s runners, he normally takes his foals to Newcastle for the decent surface there.
The only issue is race fitness but this represents a potential big drop in class if King’s Gem is good enough on first run.
