28 SariskaCould be a very decent race….obviously Fame+Glory will be tough to beat but hasn’t convinced that he has the required speed over this trip to be a “good thing”.
March 25, 2010 at 20:06 #285577Don’t know the stats, but wouldn’t be too keen on something that had been running in Dubai.
How’s that Bolger early in the season? I would really love Gan Amhras to have a good season.
March 25, 2010 at 20:07 #285578agree wallace fame and glory will be vulnerable to a turn of foot
i will be happy to lay him if he runsMarch 25, 2010 at 20:15 #285582Sans Frontieres could be very interesting horse imo….looked a real good sort before injury curtailed him last season.
It depends on the field that shows up…on F+G chances. For instance if a Sariska or Cavalryman showed up then you would think he was a lay. Obviously he has the best form in the book but over this 1m2f distance you gotta worry. However i would have said that about Duke Of Marmalade and we saw how he turned out. Obviously the opposition is much much higher standard than what he faced
March 25, 2010 at 20:20 #285584Bolger has been in and out and he dogged Gan Amhras last year…..poor horse was running stones below form after the season he had. Completely lost the plot towards the end. I thought he would have been sold as he looked finished last run
April 6, 2010 at 19:31 #288030Other than FAG & Cavalryman (who both have G1 credentials over 12f, and might have the class to win, despite the drop in trip) and Twice Over (who has won a G1 over the trip, but I am not convinced about his class), 2 horses interest me.
-I know it is also a drop in trip for Sariska, but she definitely has class.
-Vitruvian Man showed some real potential before he was puled back after a poor run in last year’s Ballysax.
By the way, does anyone know what Weld has done with Casual Conquest (last year’s winner)?
April 6, 2010 at 22:03 #288092A lot will depend on the ground which is impossible to predict this far in advance. Knowing the Curragh, it could be as hard as the M7 or as soft as the Bog of Allen.
I’m sure John will be ringing up the track in the weeks beforehand to put in his request!

Good point. Weld really cultivated Casual Conquest to hit this race perfectly last year, and he certainly had Chinese White progressively stepping up in class and winning consistently towards the end of last season. Plus she was winning on all sorts of ground.
April 7, 2010 at 00:35 #288127Casual Conquest was sold to Australia and is being aimed at the Melbourne Cup, I think…

Who hasn’t been sold to Australia to be aimed at the MC?
Alandi, Mourayan, Casual Conquest, Manighar…
