Lovely. I hope it’s Wolves personally, so I can watch on ATR.
June 26, 2006 at 13:37 #68597Preferred option is Warwick as one of the races she has been been entered for is a memorial race for Craig and we’d obviously like to run in that if we can.
June 26, 2006 at 19:19 #68598Oh yes of course, but I didn’t realise that was happening so soon. Have you got any details GD? I might be able to go.
To be honest I’m a bit surprised no-one’s posted anything on the forum about it, or have I missed it?

June 30, 2006 at 12:03 #68599I’ve been watching out for some news of the race and the first I heard was from a thread started on Final Furlong yesterday. I can’t go on Sunday – I would dearly have liked to – but I hope Taj does Craig proud.
June 30, 2006 at 13:15 #68601I’m gutted!. Plans already made for Sunday and this is the first I have seen of any details towards Craig’s memorial race.
June 30, 2006 at 16:36 #68603It’s great to see that the conditions suit Taj for Craig’s memorial race and it’s very fitting that she can run in it. of course it would be even better if she could be in the frame – hope she runs well, I’ll be yelling her home!

Mully don’t panic! It’s a race organsied by his workmates, not the race we’re sponsoring on here, so hopefully you’ll be able to go to that.
Having said that I will be going on sunday, for Craig and to cheer taj on

June 30, 2006 at 19:57 #68605Just to echo what Burroughill has said the race which is being run at Warwick was sponsored by one of the suppliers who Craig used to do business with.
They had, as far as i am aware, sponsored a couple of the races anyway and very kindly renamed one of them in Craig’s honour.
It’s not the one that is been mooted on the site and which hopefully will be organised shortly for him.
The two races that they’ve sponsored (the 6f & 7f maidens) were, by an incredible coincidence, races that Tajj was going to be entered for in any event.
We only found out the position last weekend when the entries were made, hence the reason that there hasnt been too much information.
Once we found out about the memorial race we’ve obviously all had our hearts set on running at Warwick on Sunday (she was entered at Wolves also and there one or two other opportunities about) but because it was all done relatively quickly at the last minute there just wasnt the time to publisise it on here.
There was also the chance of course that she might fall victim to a ballot mark and not get a run so we didnt want to get everybody’s hopes up and not be able to deliver the bride to the altar in a a manner of speaking.
Anyway Liam Keniry rides, it’s not the greatest race on paper, so fingers crossed she can be competetive.
July 2, 2006 at 16:28 #68607I hope everything went well at Warwick today.
I watched the race and it looked two out as if it might be a great result.
July 2, 2006 at 16:30 #68608Taj ran another very promising race, she looked to me as though she found the 7f too far – 2f out I thought she had the race won. I reckon she has got to win races at either 5f or 6f.

July 2, 2006 at 19:05 #68609that was a really good run.
i hope she is ok because she seemed to lose her action at the end and she looked as if she might have been kicked when she was hampered.
all being well, one more run and a handicap mark to go to war with…
July 2, 2006 at 19:10 #68610It was great to be there today at Warwick to cheer Tajj on, and for while there, I thought we might be cheering her into the winners enclosure! I thought she ran a really gutsy race, not at all green, but wonder if she’d be better being held up in mid field next time, rather than being at the front from the start. Either that, or go down to six furlongs.
It was nice to see the two Pauls and Debs of course…I just wish it had been a tad cooler! PHEW!
July 2, 2006 at 21:32 #68611Thanks for the comments.
We’re happy with her again,as SL says she looked the winner two out .
She clearly didn’t stay and will step back down in trip next time.
She did pick up a little cut after been struck into a furlong out as one of the other runners veered off a true line, nothing to worry about.
There is a major problem with horses a furlong out at Warwick veering off a true line thinking they are going back to the exit for where they go out onto the course (Granny Peel did it at an earlier meet this season).
Both Violets Pride & Compton Flyer veered off the course and dumped their riders in other races.
Luckily the horses and jockeys appeared to be relatively unscathed afterwards, but next time they may not be so lucky and something needs to be done.
July 3, 2006 at 04:55 #68612I didn’t see what happened to Compton Flyer, but I saw Violet’s Pride go, with my money on it! Both the jockey and the horse were extremely lucky there; they could have been seriously injured, and it was quite obvious that the horse was heading straight for the stables or the exit. It’s very badly positioned there.
I hope Tajj is OK. Looking forward to next time!
July 3, 2006 at 08:45 #68613A very pleasant day and it was good to see all the syndicate members again (plus Gilly of course!), plus Debs & Luke and a big turnout from Craig’s family. A nice run from Tajj and she did you all proud, a drop back in trip should see her go close in a little race somewhere.
Apologies for doing a disappearing act but had to dash off after the fourth race.
I was deliberately waiting until after Sunday to make further enquiries about the proposed TRF memorial race at Leicester but, work commitments permitting, I will set the ball rolling this week and will post again when I have more news.
July 3, 2006 at 12:03 #68614If she were mine, 1 more run at 7f then back to 5f for her handicap debut.
July 3, 2006 at 13:21 #68615I think 5 furlongs is her trip… I couldn’t make it yesterday so had to watch a replay and I thought she was going to at least place 2f out as she seemed to be travelling, but after getting cut up she emptied quite quickly. She’s showed enough speed to suggest that with a decent start she’s win a 5f
