This is a really tough one at this stage, and the two near the head of the market that appeal are Montregard, and Rivers Corner. Both short enough, snd can’t split them right now
Beauport is interesting, but he’ll surely go Rendlesham, and although he looks gone, I just wonder if they’re persisting with Gericault Roque for reason. Hard to justify, but I can see me covering him
I’ll be predictable though, and take the 33’s on Sam Brown. Fourteen now, and I’d rather see him retired, but had a feeling we might see him here, and I’m fairly sure I’ll still get a run for my money. Just ok on only run this season, but I’d prefer him round here anyway

February 9, 2026 at 22:21 #1754097I’ll keep an eye on Beaufort, but I’m definitely interested in Threeunderthrufive who is six pounds lower than when finishing 2nd in this last year. The 14/1 right seems okay to me.
February 9, 2026 at 22:34 #1754098Threeunderthrufive is
20s, this eve, with 365 and Lads.
And with a Lads account u’d prob get a boost to 22s
Edit: Yep, just checked,
22s Lads (with a boost)February 9, 2026 at 23:27 #1754129Thanks, Wilts. I’ve got an account with Bet365 and 20/1 is good enough for an EW bet.

February 10, 2026 at 18:13 #1754195Kings Threshold looks the progressive one in the race to me so I’ll take some of the 7’s with Hills if it’s still there tomorrow.
That said, it’s a big enough field so I’m not sure of the justification for taking something ante post. Wouldn’t imagine the price of much is going to shorten much after decs.
February 11, 2026 at 10:04 #1754244Emma Lavelle in the weekender today saying Kings Threshold won’t run on soft.
I pulled the trigger in the end ante post and now it’s looking unlikely to run!
Although Ascot does drain quickly and there’s not much rain forecast Friday and Saturday I think the damage may have already been done to the ground.
February 11, 2026 at 22:13 #1754325I’ve taken 8-1 on Montregard
February 12, 2026 at 11:39 #1754348Couldn’t back anything in here with someone else’s money now personally. Think it’s a pig awful renewal.
Jipcot 2nd fav on the back of winning a Mickey Mouse race at Leicester. 50 million year old Sam Brown top weight. Most the field well beaten in lesser grades last time out now making a jump into a higher grade.
The horse racing equivalent of Tuesday afternoon in spoons. Thugs, Uggs and Drugs.February 12, 2026 at 15:03 #1754366Agree with Tiz, it’s a rather poor renewal. The Lacey pair is as usual well underpriced, Venetia is almost nine weeks without a winner, the Moore’s have yet to find their usual spring form. Others have to many question marks surrounding them.
I’ll stick with my initial selection: ThreeunderthrufiveFebruary 12, 2026 at 20:05 #1754397Montregard
