Favourite race of the festival for me. Hit the crossbar for the last 2 years but this years gonna be different. Sharjah is the play this time round. Lookin for a really dominant performance on Sunday to convince Willie to step Getabird up in trip and rely on this lad for the Supreme
January 31, 2018 at 22:37 #1340048Debuchet @ 33’s.
Disappointed last time out, but Mags Mullins put that down to the horse being afraid after the wind op. She said they tend to be afraid that it’s still going to hurt them to run, so she is expecting a massive improvement. There is no official link to this, someone posted this on another forum from someone who was in the MM yard. Expectations were high, bumper form is solid, and i’d expect a much better performance in the Deloitte.
January 31, 2018 at 23:03 #1340053Cheltenham Bumper form would make this horse near favourite for this. Dismal display on hurdles debut though. Im mentally scarred after watchin that.
February 1, 2018 at 07:22 #1340085I wouldn’t say 4/24 is dismal but I get your point.
February 1, 2018 at 09:28 #1340090Listening to Ricci talk about Getabird and Sharjah on Youtube; this is how I interpret the situation.
IF, and its a big if, Sharjah smashes Mengli Khan on Sunday, then Sharjah will go to the Supreme and Getabird will go to the Ballymore to take on Samcro. If Sharjah loses to Mengli Khan on Sunday then they will send Getabird to the Supreme.
But IF, and again it’s a BIG IF, Samcro smashes up in the 2 miler on Sunday and targets the Supreme then Getabird will go to the Ballymore to avoid him. So basically, anything can happen and there is more than one variable..
It’s a real Gigginstown (Elliot) v Ricci (Mullins) conundrum and you’d want to have a degree in Game Theory to figure it out. If Sharjah stood up and Mengli Khan finished at Xmas I’d say it would be a lot clearer. Thankfully, this weekend should sort it.
February 1, 2018 at 10:16 #1340092Mengli khan goes straight to cheltenham, not running in the deloitte.
February 1, 2018 at 10:47 #1340094Samcro going for the Deloitte
Very interesting; Samcro v Sharjah
February 1, 2018 at 13:44 #1340120Gordan Elliot said today that Samcro is running in the 2m race because the ground is too soft. And he’ll be stepped up for the Ballymore at the festival.
February 1, 2018 at 15:14 #1340127Atleast we know he comes here if the festival turned up soft(ish)
February 1, 2018 at 15:23 #1340129Entries are out, sayar not in, assuming thattl be him for season now

February 1, 2018 at 16:09 #1340139When Kevin Blake did a stable tour with WPM, he said they were aiming at Punchestown with him as he wouldn’t be ready for the fez.
February 4, 2018 at 14:47 #1340807I’ve never been convinced about Claimantakinforgan as a Supreme winner but Musselburgh is a speed track and I’d expect him to put that run behind him if they’re still committed to Cheltenham.
Still prefer If Yhe Cap Fits but wouldn’t be a true all surprised to see Samcro here, particularly if there’s drying ground over the first couple of days.
Really mediocre division again this season.
February 8, 2018 at 17:19 #1341286Just watched Getabirds win in the Moscow Flyer again and he really was impressive, find it hard to see anything that can beat him to be honest and at 2/1 may well be a staple of my big accumulators (well more likely trebles)
February 10, 2018 at 21:48 #1341696Djingle runs tomorrow in the 230 at Exeter over 2 miles for Paul Nicholls. He was bought for 350,000 Euros in November after winning a listed race in France and the overall form of that and his previous victory stands up quite well.
I imagine he has had time to improve under the tutelage of the Ditcheat master and heads the market at a best price currently of 11/8.
Currently 33/1 for the supreme, which could be shortened considerably if impressing tomorrow. (Also entered in the Ballymore, 50/1)I won’t play ante post but I’ll have half of today’s profit on him for tomorrow’s race.
February 10, 2018 at 21:55 #1341698Its 8yrs since I put Get me out of here up for this..Bloody Robbed I was at 20/1..its 6yrs since I put up Darlan for this and had AP not fluffed his lines he too would have won at 16/1 for me…Its 5 yrs since I was convinced My Tent or Yours would win the Betfair hurdle and ‘Supreme’ at 10/1 and 20/1..He did the business at Newbury but that Cheltenham hill was his nemesis..I have been robbed more times than I have actually won a ‘Supreme’…Vautour did me proud at 10/1..Arcalis did at 25/1 and before that it was Forest sun at 12/1..This year I havent spotted anything that jumps off the page..Until today.Kalashnikov did me and my 15 Twitter followers proud today at 12/1 and he has ‘Supreme’ written all over him,Jack Quinlan rode the almost perfect race,5 out he realised it was time to move, his position wasn’t ideal but the horse went through the gears effortlessly..’Bleu et Rouge’ seemed to be travelling like ‘MTOY’ but couldn’t live with the AK47’s ratta tat tat way of picking up..I have taken all the 10/1 I can get for this years ‘Supreme’ and am confident he will out battle anything at Cheltenham. He has a willing attitude and scope for jumping fences. If he prefers faster ground then he goes off 3/1 on March 13th…No danger..TAPK knows.
February 10, 2018 at 22:24 #1341702You won’t be far out, Gord. Impressed me today. You’ve been the quiet man this season.
