In case anyone else is interested I’ve put my money where my mouth is
£500 EW Galileo’s Choice @ 7 /1 Placed last weekend
March 8, 2012 at 16:52 #395395I don’t know what you’re implying really. very little of what you say makes any sense.
March 8, 2012 at 16:55 #395396I’d much rather read good posts like this, rather than those of some condescending twit who has swallowed the latest Oxford dictionary 17 times

Ooooooh, he’s educated, what a ******* t**t!
Haha, some of you are epic. The sensitivity of a mouse, the logic of the word irregardless blended with the bite of Gok Wan.
March 8, 2012 at 16:57 #395397maybe if you weren’t such a relentless stuck up your own arse troll, you might not piss people off so much…
March 8, 2012 at 17:00 #395398shack, elgrandsenor…..don’t get drawn into a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent

A "proper" put down indeed.
March 8, 2012 at 17:03 #395400agreed. actually I left the betfair forum because it was too full of pompous twits like this guy but seems there is no escape.

Yep, Keyboard Warriors are rife whichever forum you turn to.
March 8, 2012 at 17:55 #395411I’m finally done studying this race and have my 1-2-3.
1st – Steps To Freedom (WIN 7/1)
2nd – Colour Squadron (e/w 16/1)
3rd – Dylan Ross (e/w 33/1)
I found it tough to discard Galileo’s Choice, but his lesser hurdle achievements and jockey/trainer just pushed him out of my top three. Steps To Freedom is the proven horse, I think already showing he can produce mid 160s runs over hurdles when you consider all he achieved in unsuitable conditions at Cheltenham. I see people using that run to criticise him, but I took it as an enormous positive that he could win in spite of everything. The standout piece of form, in fact.
Colour Squadron, like Darlan, doesn’t look like the most intelligent horse. He is very green, fell last time and just not the finished article mentally. I think Richard Johnson will know to give him a very patient ride on the day, a la Menorah – which will allow the obvious potential to be unlocked. Hopefully none the worse for recent fall.
Dylan Ross is a huge price (justifiable since he won’t win, I guess) but I’ll take a small bet each-way. He just looks very ungenuine and has travelled like the best horse in all of his runs this season, then refused to win. More of the same could be good enough to get in the frame.
March 9, 2012 at 08:55 #395479Picked out divapour when still 91 entries in the supreme and he was in the Neptune did a small £2 win £2 place in both races as looking at the odds on betfair 70 and 20 for the Neptune I thought he’d go there
Anyway flat winner unbeaten over jumps. Bred by aga khan won on soft and good ground . Just have a feeling you know what I mean?
Anyway for the supreme I got £2 win at 640/1 and £2 place at 90/1

Really hope he runs and just a heads up sky bet he is only 50/1 but they pay 1,2,3,4,5March 9, 2012 at 09:35 #395485Echoes of the raid on the 2000 guineas two years ago.
Had a point on Divapour for that reason. 66/1.
I think it is the same owners as that sneaky guineas raider too. 66-1 is too big. winning 20k races in pau is nice enough form. This race is wide open.
March 9, 2012 at 10:00 #395491Chelt Specialist: For what it is worth I would much rather read your posts than look at some drivel that is on other forums.
Sadly with the popularity of these forums many have ‘clowns’ and ‘timewasters’ who merely want to try and cause rifts between people who enjoy talking about racing!
Ignore the trouble makers and just chat with those that do not cause bother or wish to cause offence

Sorry if that comes across condescending or sort of ‘teaching to suck eggs’ but I for one just do not bother with such people.
March 9, 2012 at 10:23 #395497Fairly impressive,Oscars Well in behind.
March 9, 2012 at 10:29 #395499I’m completely with you this GDC. It actually makes you less inclined to put a point forward when there are, well to put it bluntly, keyboard bullies who take a great deal of time in trying not to put their point forward, but to cynically dissect others views.
Chelt specialist, keep to what you do well my friend, giving informed and insightful opinions and don’t be drawn in by someone spoiling for a fight. Shack and Elgransenor,I think the same applies.
If I happen to get a caustic tirade from "someone" about my opinion on this, I will not be responding to it.
Please can we get back to what this forum is good at….talking horses and respecting opinions whether we agree with them or not.
March 9, 2012 at 11:07 #395505I’m on Cinders And Ashes for this – McCain reckons he’ll be better on better ground, and that’s good enough for me. The price has gone now though, and I wouldn’t back it at 9s.
I think Montbazon is a stonking place bet, and I’ll probably do him on the day, so to speak.
I can’t understand all this tit-for-tat-my-views-are-better-than-yours. We all love horse racing. We all love Cheltenham. Don’t spoil it.

Thanks Guys, I hope I can unearth something worth passing on next week……on the subject of racing
These guys don’t usually have much depth of either knowledge or intelligence they tend to get fed up an move on if ridiculed or ignored. Humour works far better than aggression in my experienceMarch 9, 2012 at 13:22 #395527Thanks Guys, I hope I can unearth something worth passing on next week……on the subject of racing
These guys don’t usually have much depth of either knowledge or intelligence they tend to get fed up an move on if ridiculed or ignored. Humour works far better than aggression in my experienceExcept your ability to be effective through humour doesn’t work, considering how defensive you become.
I’ve offered opinions on various horses in this thread, but you you largely ignore these, posting what i often see to be illogically structured arguments. I highlight these (Yes, in a brash manner), and you think it’s some form of disrespect and go into "superiority" mode where you cite how im unlikely to have any real intelligence or knowledge.
Then the boys club comes in and defends your honour, rather than discussing the points at hand.
