Taken from the Racing Post.
LINCOLNSHIRE trainer Sue Lamyman died on Wednesday morning, aged 69, after suffering from cancer for the past 14 years.
Lamyman, who lost her husband Peter to cancer in November, had been told her condition become untreatable and for the past fortnight she was confined to bed with employees at the Louth stable taking turns to stay with her.
Her final runner, Dart, finished fourth under Robert Winston at Southwell on Tuesday, and had been due to reappear again next week.
Lamyman’s last winner was provided by the veteran Victory Quest whose success at Southwell a fortnight ago was his 13th for her at the Nottinghamshire track, and 14th in total.
Other good horses trained by Lamyman, who started operating under permit in 1977 before later taking out a combined licence, were the stayer Jamaican Flight, who supplemented 12 Flat victories with eight over hurdles, and Vicars Destiny, a winner at York in 2005 when ridden by Mick Kinane.
Paying tribute, Jane Robinson, who has worked for the Lamymans for more than 25 years, said: "Sue has been ill for about 14 years, but she has never complained, not once. Her motto was ‘Get over it and get on with it’ , and she had a policy, no whinging, whining or weeping.
"Whenever we were going on long trips racing, she always packed us sandwiches and lovely things she’d made, and whenever we rode work on a Sunday, she always made us Sunday lunch. She always fed us and we always had supper when we came back from racing."
Robinson went on: "It wasn’t unexpected when Sue died peacefully at home this morning and her stable staff looked after her to the end. We had a rota and took it in turns to look after her. She was so nice she wouldn’t say anything to anybody else, but because we were her staff she could boss us about."

Jamaican Flight was a tough old beast and pretty versatile by the sounds of it.
