January 8, 2012 at 15:19 #386059Very strange.
Decently bred by Galileo out of a Royal Academy mare but what would they want with a 62 rated handicapper.
Have they always owned her or bought her. She was with Sir Michael Stoute wasnt she ?January 8, 2012 at 20:28 #386089It was, and owned by cheveley park stud do you think she was brought breeding?
January 9, 2012 at 20:17 #386199She is with Pipe now.Hardly the road to the shed is it?
January 9, 2012 at 20:34 #386201that’s the only thing it could before init? unless there investing in NH for J O’Brien ? as i said its strange
January 9, 2012 at 20:53 #386205I didn’t see this in the RP or any other news media this is big news.
Coolmore trio join Pipe’s owners at Pond House with Effervesce.
DAVID PIPE has welcomed the Coolmore contingent of John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith to his list of owners, with four-year-old filly Effervesce set to carry the famous navy blue silks, writes Stuart Riley.
Effervesce, formerly trained by Sir Michael Stoute for Cheveley Park Stud, is due to have her first run imminently having been purchased by Pipe last October. The daughter of Galileo has been off the track since last September but is ready for her first run for new connections having been declared a non-runner at Bath on Monday.
Pipe said: "It’s brilliant to have them as owners in the yard. She’ll be the first horse to run in their colours for us."
Explaining how he came by his new owners, Pipe said: "Gordon Elliott bought her at the horses in training sale on our behalf as we really liked her. Subsequently, the Coolmore team showed an interest in her and they wanted her."
On future plans, Pipe added: "She missed Bath the other day but she’ll be out some time soon, although it’s all up in the air at the moment as we don’t have any real plans for her. We’ll see how she goes.
"She’s rated just 74 on the Flat and has a lot to prove. We’ve not even discussed with the owners whether or not she’ll run over hurdles yet."
January 9, 2012 at 23:36 #386230How very interesting.
I take your point about Joseph eventually becoming a jump jockey.
But this animal has just finished last of 6 off a rating of 62.
Why have it with Pipe rather than let daddy do the training ?January 10, 2012 at 16:40 #386309More like for one of the Magniers to be the intended jockey.Better Ballydoyle stay with their primary mission… to provide studs for Coolmore. Not NH rides for Joseph.
January 10, 2012 at 18:11 #386320Its just a thought.
