radio 5 just reported Keiron Fallon is joing Sir Michael Stoute as his assistant trainer.
February 6, 2008 at 08:59 #140533It almost defies a response – unbelievable!!
February 6, 2008 at 09:08 #140534Wow. I always had Sir Michael Stoute as being one of the shrewdest men in racing.
It’s all down hill from here for that trainer surely, his peak has been reached.
February 6, 2008 at 09:11 #140535Bizarre, but if this implies he’s unlikely to resume riding after his ban then…
…for this we can be truly thankful
February 6, 2008 at 09:33 #140543Who will emerge as the UK’s no 1 trainer in the next few years now that Stoute has ruined himself?
February 6, 2008 at 09:57 #140550someone wrote before on here that Coolmore were a money operating machine and they found Fallon to be a great judge of horse and look at their record!! maybe MS knows something we dont would not be surprised if they have a very good season watch out for those 2yo…

Kieren Fallon
February 6, 2008 at 10:01 #140553So is Keiren only suspended and not disqualified?
February 6, 2008 at 10:02 #140554Well if I ever owned a horse and could afford any trainer I wanted, there is simply no way I would send it to Stoute now. (Im sure Michael isnt quaking in his boots at that statement from me). Previously I would love to have Stoute train a horse for me, now = no way.

It could just be that Sir Michael is better informed, and in a better position to judge, than many on here – or is that just too unbelievable?
February 6, 2008 at 10:15 #140559I was 100% behind the ban but I think it’s great news.
Fantastic trainer who if Fallon plays his cards right could end up replacing in a few years. Stoute is now about 64 years old and it seems a sensible move.
Stoute being a Bajan has a nice calm collective appearance about him.
Hardly the type you would expect could control Fallon.I think a few people who have worked with him or know the man will tell you different and he is not a man you can cross and get off lightly.
If that’s the case Fallon will be well suited to working with him. He could be the one man Fallon could have enough respect for to sort his personal problems out.
If not he can always get Dickie McCabe to smack him around if it’s required and Fallon can have all the fights he wants with him
Anyone know if he still works in the yard?Sir MS should get another Knighthood for giving the man another chance.
I wouldn’t but I only read the papers and don’t know the man and if Sir MS stands by him that’s good enough for me to say go for it.

Even the best informed and intelligent business men are capable of making a catastrophic mistake that will eventually result in their downfall. It has happened to many a smarter man than Stoute.
Only time will tell if it was a good decision.
February 6, 2008 at 10:35 #140565I think it will do Fallon the world of good and he could have no better man than Sir Michael Stoute to work alongside. I’m sure the great trainer hasn’t made this decision without a great deal of thought attached.

???
Which but do you not understand and I can help you out?
February 6, 2008 at 10:50 #140573I just hope that Stoutey’s trust is not abused.
I feel that Fallon knows his horses, and could be a valuable addition to any yard but he does bring some baggage with him.
Good luck, Sir Michael.

February 6, 2008 at 10:52 #140575I’m not sure how true this story is,but if it is, we have two of the best men in the game getting back together!
They were a powerful combination before.
I would not have thought that Ballydoyle would want to lose Fallon altogether, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Relationship between AOB and KF had all but broken down from some accounts. The issues brought out the big differences in their personalities and ummmmmmm values… to the fore
