Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 30, 2022 at 17:48 #1609578That sums up an annoying week at Goodwood. Inver Park drawn 15, Commanche falls in 19. Ben Curtis for reasons only he knows went to the right and his race was done and dusted there. Did well to finish 8th.
No complaints, apart from that. Oh and having to watch it with me dad who decided a tenner each way on a 150-1 shot was a good idea. Lucky Barsteward.Nice price winners.
July 30, 2022 at 18:30 #160958725/1 winner Commanche Falls started 35.45 at Betfair Exchange.
An extra 10pts on the price for swerving all that each-way extended places nonsense and having a MAN’S bet.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 30, 2022 at 18:36 #1609588I wonder how many bookmakers on the track offered 1/4 odds first four places? I expect most were a fifth the odds instead.
July 30, 2022 at 18:42 #1609589At the track, on-course bookmakers are supposed to bet to Tattersalls rules and tbf most do.
But the whole situation is simplified if punters bet win only, suck it up when they’re in the extended places, but get nothing, and win significantly more when their bet obliges.

Don’t think you’re allowed to say things like that these days, Chezza. It’s sexist, apparently.
July 30, 2022 at 20:47 #1609598It’s 2022, there is no such thing as a MAN anymore…..

Reminds me of when in 1981, on the Monday after Shergar’s Classic Trial romp, Richard Baerlein wrote in The Guardian: “Now is the time to bet like men.”
On the facing page was Polly Toynbee’s women’s column.
