Hoping he is drawn on the right side i think Genki can win it again today
Any thoughts from you guys
July 31, 2010 at 10:16 #310166think Kaldoun Kingdom should be near fav
him and Palace Moon class acts for mineJuly 31, 2010 at 10:40 #310173Just beat me to it, Darren.
Think the rain (and watering) may negate any bias with the draw … judging by yesterday I still think central is the place to be but I think if you have a fancy then just stick with it and don’t get sidetracked by trying to figure out whether they’re well drawn or not.
Genki will certainly love the conditions and you have to think he’ll be thereabouts … I also have a sneaky feeling that Roger Charlton knows more about the abilities of his other entry, Run for the Hills, than he was letting on during the Morning Line … watch his run against Flipando at Epsom when he finished fast after switching wide around the whole field.
One or two here that I’ve been following but don’t fancy today … not a great race for 3 year olds so discounted Singeur (out of form) and Iver Bridge Lad … and the rain will have done for Hitchens’ chance as well.
I like Kaldoun Kingdom, Evens and Odds and Secret Asset but all three ridden by claimers and history shows this race tends not to be won by apprentices (famous last words)
My choice for what it’s worth is Rileyskeepingfaith … nicely in with Genki on previous running … has won with a bit of give in the ground … stays a bit further than 6f which I think is important … and, of course, has the services of the in-form Richard Hughes … interesting that he rides him for the first time and probably indicative of how much the stable fancy his chances that they took the trouble to get Hughes when he was seriously in demand … 14/1 still generally available and looks good value … won’t be for the faint hearted though as I’m guessing (and hoping) he’ll be weaving through very late.
July 31, 2010 at 12:49 #310190RIleyskeepingfaith and Secret Asset for me.
July 31, 2010 at 14:12 #310205Enact for me with a speculative e/w on Singeur.

Secret Asset may have been a touch flattered to finish so close to Regal Parade at Newbury last time, but there’s little doubt that he’s improving, has a useful claimer on board, is conveniently drawn in stall 10 and races off an extremely handy weight.
I thought 18/1 was big last night – 25/1 is definitely too big now.
Palace Moon for the forecast.
I’ve also thrown a speculative £10 at Edge Closer at 66/1.

Is Dandy Nichol’s a reincarnation of Capt Ryan Price
Man’s a genius
July 31, 2010 at 14:57 #310215Hmmm, mixed emotions here … tipped Evens and Odds in the Goodwood Competition thread (as well as Roxy Flyer) and haven’t had a penny on either of them
Would have backed E&A had I not been so naffed off when walking into Ladbrokes this morning to find the value gone having contracted into 14’s from 33’s thanks to Mr Segal.
C’est la vie … the upside is I’ve got my money back each way on Rileyskeepingfaith … and I appear to be in front in the competition with 3 races to go

Not sure he can swear like Ryan and with Ryan you would normally have just the one runner.
One thing often fogotten about the Capt was the way he looked after his horses when they stopped racing. Soldiers Field was full of them.
Good to see William and Amanda doing well. C’mon Nick time to get Findon on the map again.
