“The cynic in me is saying could it be a ploy from connections to get a better price.”

12/1 with some firms now, although I doubt they would let connections have much on at that price.

A shame about Flooring Porter. I was looking forward to 3 in a row.

Had initially bet Sire Du Berlais for this before his Christmas run, and after that horror show, the fact that he looks better for The Pertemps, and also that he’s 11, I decided to lay off.

Made a (very) small profit on that, and decided to bet him again at 320’s with the way the race is going.

Still think he’ll run Pertemps, but he’ll be trained for that particular day, he showed at Aintree he’s still capable, and we know he loves the track.

If he shows the same temperament as he did at Leopardstown, he might refuse to start anyway, and he is 11, but at the price, I had to give it a go.

I’ll no doubt bet Dashel Drasher too

    Sire Du Berlais 320’s

    Willies sporting life blog:

Klassical Dream is making progress from his small setback and while it’s going to be tough to make it to Cheltenham, where there’s life, there’s hope. We’ll give him every chance to make it, but I wouldn’t be putting any ante-post bets on him at the minute

Becoming more and more sweet on teahupoo by the day

Going to test his stamina in the galmoy next Thursday

Already the highest rated horse in the race

Only 6yos (6yos have a good record in the race) so open to loads of improvement

The ground is the worry but my hope is he needed it soft over 2 miles not because of his action (which doesn’t look overly rounded to my untrained eye( but because he was slow and needed the stamina test.

I’ve had a play e.w on Goshen …I know it’s Cheltenham , he,s a loon etc etc , I was impressed with his last run , he,s behaved himself so far this year and he,s got class , 33s is huge esp if there’s no Flooring Porter

Will it be tested though if he wins in a canter? ;o)

3 miles on soft ground is 3 miles on soft ground

Having only run over as far as 2m4f it’ll do

If he were to win easily my 12s would look rather good

I was going to say Teahupoo has too silly a name to win a Stayers’ Hurdle, but I then remembered Bit Of A Jig won it.

Teahupoo couldn’t have won any easier

And is now deservedly favourite for this

After the FP news needed my other selection to do that :good:

He was undeniably won it well but it looked like a soft race and he did no more than the market said he should.

Teahupoo hasn’t really improved there on the rating I already had for him, but what he has done is demonstrate he stays 3m well.

Deserves to be favourite now and the 3/1 probably won’t last – could see him starting somewhere between 9/4 and 7/4 on the day.

Was likely to go favourite for this after winning comfortably at 4-11 on soft ground.

If he is 7/4 I will put him up as my Lay Of The Festival.
