Paisley Park seemed more on his toes than normal beforehand and didn’t run anything like his best.
Summerville Boy ran like a non-stayer in a very strongly run affair.
Apple’s Jade went too fast early.
Penhill pulled up.
Emitom ran ok, but not convinced he ran to form.
When all the best horses run poorly, something has to win.
Well done Becky, Adam and all (did anyone?) backing LO.
Linegar Oscar was third to Paisley Park and Summerville Boy in the Cleeve which was probably a career best at the time… And improved again today.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2020 at 20:49 #1485834Heard of one person who backed LO because the dog’s called Oscar

Race 4 – 3:30pm
THE PADDY POWER STAYERS’ HURDLE RACE (CLASS 1) (Grade 1)EMITOM (IRE) and TOBEFAIR wore earplugs which were removed at the start and PENHILL wore earplugs throughout the race.
The performance of PAISLEY PARK (IRE), which started favourite and finished seventh, beaten by 14½ lengths, was considered. Immediately after the race, the representative of Emma Lavelle could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than PAISLEY PARK (IRE) lost its left-fore and right-hind shoes; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of PAISLEY PARK (IRE), following routine testing, revealed the gelding to have an irregular heartbeat on his return to the Stables. Lavelle advised that PAISLEY PARK (IRE) would be further assessed by her Veterinary Surgeon on Friday and a follow-up report would be forwarded to the Stewards in due course.

Even after studying his form afterwards, thinking I’d see something I should have picked up on, nothing sprung out at me. Which was a relief. However, I had backed one of her horses in an earlier race purely because I thought that maybe it was time she won something. And she did bring At Fishers Cross back to place in the race at a huge price so she has form in the race.
