As the Breeders’ Cup draws ever nearer, a bewildering array of Grade 1 races at Keeneland, Santa Anita, Woodbine and Belmont at the Big A tonight UK time.
Three Grade 1s and a Grade 2 featuring Golden Pal (8.38) at the first named – the 2yo Forte in the 10.14 is another I would recommend watching closely.
I’d say the 9.20 at Belmont at the Big A lies between War Like Goddess and my old friend Gufo, who did me a good turn at Saratoga in the summer.
And later on at Santa Anita, while I am no fan of the trainer, it’s not Cave Rock’s fault whose yard he’s in and this immensely-talented son of Arrogate sets a clear standard, I feel.
Enjoy!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 16:27 #1617863So many BC qualifiers and preps this weekend, hard to keep track…
My main interest is Moira who’s contesting the E.P. Taylor Stakes (G1) at Woodbine.
Also of interest is the Coolmore Turf Mile S. (G1) at Keeneland. Christophe Soumillon is named to ride Australia, I thought he was to start serving his suspension following the Arc weekend? How many lives does this cat have?
For anyone interested, here’s a link to some info about a few of the key runners:

Hoping to see an impressive win as I’m on for the Breeders cup turf sprint
October 8, 2022 at 17:35 #1617871As am I, FF.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 17:37 #1617872I just hope they don’t try to hold onto him like they did last time and use his early pace which is his main weapon
October 8, 2022 at 17:43 #1617873Much though I like Highfield Princess I don’t think she would be able to lie up with – or consequently ever get anywhere near – Golden Pal if he just blasts off in front on his favoured quick ground.
One way to ride this horse – jump off in front and keep improving your position thereafter!

Broke well, soon led, went clear turning for home, reduced lead near finish but jockey simply nursing him home, I thought.

Highfield princess will need to be truly exceptional to beat this lad
October 8, 2022 at 20:43 #1617887I agree.
Golden Pal ought to be favourite tbh.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 20:51 #1617890He will be a short priced fav on the day
Highfield princess will be much less popular with the American punters, I’m hoping to be able to get a saver on her at 3/1-4/1 once it goes to live prices
October 8, 2022 at 21:00 #1617892Completely agree – the prices on the USA pari-mutuel on the day are likely to differ from those of the UK bookmakers currently.
It’s a Classic case of a race being priced up because British punters are expected to back the British runner.
Golden Pal has disappointed over here, but he’s an entirely different proposition Stateside.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 21:12 #1617893Iv backed him antepost at nice price for both his breeders cup wins
Very hopeful he makes it 3 from 3
October 8, 2022 at 21:28 #1617894Good performance from war like goddess
Perhaps the best named mare in training
Could see her winning the BC fillies and mares but I can see adayar running in the BC turf and think he may have too much ability for her
Appleby also has nations pride and yibir for thar race be interesting to see what he runs
October 8, 2022 at 21:29 #1617895Decisive win for War Like Goddess at Belmont At The Big A, but her task was surely made easier after Gufo put in a below-par display.
Rebel Romance may run in the Breeders’ Cup Turf, but I think Nations Pride would be a better type for the race.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2022 at 21:31 #1617896I see Chad brown has the top 3 in the market in the grade 1 at keeneland coming up and all 3 have top jockeys on them
Very much a watching brief
October 8, 2022 at 21:34 #1617897I agree.
Golden Pal’s Breeders’ Cup odds now collapsing with the UK bookmakers.

It’s just a shame there wasn’t an overreaction to his ascot run like last year Ian
Bet365 had him at 10/1 to win last years breeders cup turf which was a ludicrous price
