Worst news, puts everything else in to perspective.
tbh If I died in a tragic accident like this, I’d want racing to go ahead and for people to enjoy themselves. Have criticised Haydock in the past, but think they’re doing the right thing.
Have my own opinions on starting stalls, but that’ll wait for another day.
My condolences to Mr Yarborough’s family.

July 22, 2017 at 16:26 #1311092Not a mention on Racing UK tonight about this shameful
Steve, RUK broke the news during their Hamilton coverage, and did discuss it. I do not know how long they went over it though.
Unbelievable that this has happened, and thoughts go out to his poor family.
When it was announced he had died they mentioned nothing during the evening meeting and after racing had finished, the presenter decided to talk about plums he had picked from his garden then they went to a trailer for their unfunny tour of Yorkshire with Tom Stanley.

It is only right that family and friends of Mr. Yarborough should be told before RUK viewers, Steve.
What did you expect them to say? This thing where how much people care being judged by how quick they are to express their sorrow – is simply wrong.

What are you talking about it was on all the news channels, bbc and sky website and ATR, Racing Post had been tweeting on twitter for over an hour the only ones who didn’t mention it was RUK who were too bothered about promoting their silly new show.
RUK the only ones not to mention it last night not even a word it has nothing to do with the family being informed.

You are mistaken, Steve.
I was watching RUK yesterday evening and they mentioned it more than once.Value Is EverythingJuly 22, 2017 at 23:03 #1311123All the jockeys and stallhandlers at Newmarket and, I believe, other courses were wearing black armbands this afternoon and just before racing started we were asked to put our hands together in respect of Mr Yarborough and his family at this sad time.
The clapping went on for much more than a minute and it was heartening to see how everyone attending took the time to remember Mr.Yarborough who sadly died doing a job he loved within a team of brave men who daily risk life and limb for the sport we all love.
