Not many priced this up but William Hill have and 5/1 on Rosallion has been taken
Didn’t get his prep before the guineas and the going wasn’t ideal but still ran a blinder
could close the gap on the guineas winner now has had a run and the bend should suit him aswellCharles Darwin to conquer the World
May 12, 2024 at 15:11 #1694092Beauvatier has an entry here, took 33s, I like the look of him and hope he runs well today.
May 27, 2024 at 11:31 #1695769Shaping into a good looking race.
Glad I took the early price.. 5/2 top price now on Rosallion.
Henry Longfellow like most of Aidan’s should improve for his first outing
Notable Speech is a deserved fav after his performance in the guineas but short enough to take on imoCharles Darwin to conquer the World
June 2, 2024 at 15:56 #1696764Darlinghurst @ 25’s
Connections turned down a big offer prior to his last win and was confirmed for this race a couple of weeks ago instead of the French Derby.
Unbeaten over the trip and the horse he beat last time finished runner up today which gives his form some substance. A big price if he get’s to post considering this race could cut up a fair bit also

Looks like a few others have clicked on to him and the price is getting snapped up now.
June 13, 2024 at 13:31 #1697737Has the new owner of Haatem made a difference to his Royal Ascot target?
Jersey?

June 14, 2024 at 19:02 #1697855Rosallion has taken a little walk in the market, the rain must be coming down….

June 14, 2024 at 22:04 #1697877Henry must be the bet if soft in the going.
June 14, 2024 at 22:41 #1697883Too much is made of Rosallion’s Champagne defeat on “soft”.
Look at the times on the day.
The Champagne itself was slowly run. Over 4 seconds slower than Racing Post Standard. But three races on the card were less than 2 1/2 seconds slower than standard… And another one (the Leger) was only 1.75 seconds slower… With the wind only “light and across” – not behind. So those other times on the day indicate it was certainly not proper “soft” ground. No softer than good-soft.Probably just an off day. That said, if it is actually proper “Soft” on Tuesday; he might not act on it, and /or his turn of foot may not be as effective on it, and / or even if he does act on it may not stay a truly run mile on it. In that respect even good-soft is imo a slight negative for Rosallion.
…And as Henry Longfellow has form on soft and will also be suited by the added test of stamina soft ground brings… And potentially lessens the effectiveness of both Rosallion and Notable Speech’s turn of foot…
You can see why Henry has been the positive market mover of the three.
Am on Notable Speech at an average of 2.62 and Henry Longfellow @ 6.74
Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2024 at 23:25 #1697885I can only go with the Guineas winner.
The more I know the less I understand.

This French colt has been on a roll this year and form not that bad to.

June 17, 2024 at 12:00 #1698158Hard to see past the fav imo, big rosallion fan but i cant see him reversing that form, fav looks to have plenty more improvement in him, unquestionable @33/1 e/w looks overpriced
Henry was who i thought would win the guineas end of last season and expected to take a big step forward tomorrow, but hes short enough against the front two in the market
June 17, 2024 at 12:07 #1698160Good post Ham, one slight doubt for me about the fav is whether he gets to far back. Think Buick has to be aware that the race might be gone before he gets going. Think they will ride him slightly closer to the pace. As said only slight doubt but at the price enough for me to try and find something else
June 17, 2024 at 13:09 #1698167I backed Notable Speech @ 6/4 and Henry Longfellow @ 6/1 when the ground looked to be on the soft side.
Have now gone in again for NS but laid quite a bit of the HL back.
For me he now only has a proper 6/1 chance on good-firm. Seems to have a bit of a rounded action and it may not be a coincidence he’s so far only raced on a soft surface.
I may yet back Rosallion as a saver, but the number 1 draw puts me off hold up horses. Can see him dropped out and have to come around the field… And although he has a fine turn of foot, Notable Speech has a better one.
Had thought Coolmore might have Henry more prominent and try to slow the pace down for him to have positional advantage… But Henry is all about stamina at a mile, so does not have much chance of outsprinting his main rivals even with positional advantage. So they’ll probably make a fast pace and try to negate the speed of the other two that way.Another way Coolmore might win is (likely pacemaker and the only likely front runner) if they underestimate unquestionable and jockeys give him too much rope. Was only a length behind Rosallion in the Grand Criterium and then won the Breeders Cup on firm, so has quite a bit of speed. Trouble is he might just be sacrificed for Henry’s chance and go off too quick.
