AMOOLA GOLD wins a race at 4/1 for the flying Skelton yard.
    5.35 race
    Scaramanga win
Looks very strong here with a decent hurdle and flat mark and wins at and way beyond the distance.
ALFREDO is helped by the assistance of classic Jockey Tom Queally who has also won over hurdles and raced in Ireland and Cheltenham and is well worth an each way dabble each way wind surgery may make a difference too.

Well that last race at Bath rounds off a Great day. I hope someone in the virtual universe was also on ALFREDO as he has just stayed on and landed third place at big odds.
    40s into 33/1 SP.

Sam, I saw that Costalotmore is priced up at 33s to win any race the the chelts festival. Obviously it’s a huge leap from that bumper the last day to Cheltenham but still.

Quoted at 50s in the bumper market itself.

Do u have any inclination if it’s likely to go hurdling next?

It’s Entered up in a pro am flat race on sunday

That is interesting even more so that he is racing this weekend.
The distance was the taking thing about that display during the race. Hope something similar happens again!
I found this in the race report.
“We’ll go for a maiden hurdle now, probably over two-and-a-half miles. Touch wood he stays right.” So depending on how he does at the weekend, it may well be a hurdle soon.
As for the Champion Bumper I put Mars Harper up for it at 50/1 before his race. He was held on to today and not pushed about.

I think the thing to do Kendicate is to look back at previous Cheltenham bumpers and try and chart the routes taken and origins of past winners.
I guess listed bumpers would be one way forward. When Ive got time I’ll chart the last three winners, maybe you could do the previous three.

    Ferney Hollow
Won a point to point in Ireland 2019 and went straight to the sales.sold for 300k and went to Willie Mullins yard. Entered in bumpers start and end of December 2nd in both one more bumper in February then the big one.
So a horse was found and trained throughput 2019 with a three to four month race plan to the big day.
    Feb19 points won
    Feb19 Purchased
    2019 – in training
Dec19 Fairyhouse 2nd to Eric Bloodaxe
Dec19 Leopardstown 2nd to Forged in Fire
Feb 20 Fairyhouse won.bt On Eagles Wings
    Mar Cheltenham won.bt Appreciate it.
So this time last year Ferney Hollow was yet to debut in a bumper. So it is quite possible the journey hasnt publicly begun as yet.

Previous year’s winner Envoi Allen very similar MO winning Pointer huge purchase at the sales off to top yard summer of prep work (autumn/ winter introduction) except took in more Bumpers and a maiden hurdle and was unbeaten.

A very good day was Wednesday.
    Quiet day today.
A speculative choice for the opener at wincanton which I will post closer to the off round about 1.40pm. A small stake.
    1.10
    Tramore

    Gabbys Cross
Mystery why this one is here but needs must.
Ran in Ferney hollows breakthrough bumper just 30 lengths behind Eric Bloodaxe. Very likely to be a cut above these even with a break.
Small stakes win bet. Surprising not odds on.

    Tramore 1.45
    Small stakes (pennies)
    Rebel turn upl
    Million percent upl
    Colonel Lesley won
    Afternoonwithsusan upl

I know I’ve had a good winner in Gabby’s Cross but I heard there was a bad faller at the last. I am really upset. Racing is a tough game. I hope horse and Jockey are ok.
    I’m taking a break for a while.

There wasn’t enough time to put it in the musical truth thread!!
Lockdown luke obliged and came 2nd in the bumper @ 18/1

Gabby’s Cross made an easy transition to obstacles touching 3/1 returning 9/4 in a race marred by a bad injury to Tango Charlie.
Was always going to be a very quiet day from then on.
