Hi Artemist
There is an excellent site which operates from a breeding angle as well as Form etc. very useful for lightly raced types as they operate a Speed/ Stamina index.
Good Luck

Monster,
Could you please "pm" Artemis with this information – the owner of TRF does not approve of links to web sites that are commercial identities. (Any free information websites are OK.)
March 30, 2008 at 09:35 #154535FWIW, my own time rating for Don’t Panic is 109 – handicaps are clearly off the agenda for now and it will be interesting to see if he can make a successful transition to higher grade races.
Based on form ratings, Aahayson showed improvement but his TR of 99, some 14lb below his RP form rating, suggests that the sprint wasn’t run at a particularly strong pace.
Note that, for Lincoln Day, Topspeed has applied the same going allowance to races over both the round & straight courses. However, the times clearly indicate slower conditions on the round course due, perhaps, in part to the ground but also influenced by the runners encountering a strong headwind for a part of their races.
March 30, 2008 at 16:08 #154592Looking at Topspeed ratings recorded by Don’t Panic it appears that he is suited by a galloping course like Doncaster where he achieved his best –ever timefigure lto. He also appears to be unsuited by Newmarket . His second-best and third-best figures were both recorded at Goodwood when he won on both occasions. I would not be surprised to see him contest a race such as the Hambleton Stakes at York’s Dante meeting , and there are opportunities in Group2/3 races at Goodwood later in the season
March 30, 2008 at 16:44 #154594Hi Good Life
Looking at the trainer record for P W Chapple-Hyam he has only pitched a gelding at Group Level once before and that was a 3yr old African Dream.
Won Class 3, 8f Handicap off 94 and then was placed 7 days later in a Goup 3 at Sandown 10f and won
Next ran again in May and won a (Class A) (Group 3 at Chester)Good Luck

March 30, 2008 at 19:17 #154620Hi Monster,
Interesting information, that, about P. Chapple-Hyam. I notice that D.P’s sire, Fath, who was what I term a “pure 7 furlong horseâ€March 30, 2008 at 20:37 #154632There is good stuff, goodlife, about the power of the female side on another site where I’ve seen monster’s work.
It’s a very informative place and may be the one he is PMing to others. The bit I read was free to see.
Basically, the guys there stress the importance of the dam side of things.
March 30, 2008 at 21:09 #154637Hi Sean & Goodlife
There has been a lot of debate about the Dams side on the site you mentioned Sean and we are still only scratching the surface
Interesting research on why the Dams line is important can be read at this free site
http://thoroughbredgenetics.com
I mentioned Escape Route who ran in the Lincoln if you look at his Dams side
Conduit Mare Profile = 11-4-1-4-11 Speed = 15 Stamina = 15 Index = 1.00 Triads = 16-9-16
Perfect balance of Speed and stamina and should find a decent race at between 8f – 10f
On the Female Tail line traces back to Traces back to La Troienne who is cusing interest on the site that Sean Mentioned. There is a good free site and La Troienne is covered at the link below
http://www.bloodlines.net/TB/Families/Family1x.htm
Now onto Don’t Panic
DP = 5-5-10-2-8 (30) DI = 1.00 CD = -0.10
Conduit Mare Profile = 0-6-2-14-2 Speed = 6 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.40Has plenty of Stamina on the Female Tail line and the Conduit Mare is Membrilla who was also the Conduit Mare for Dr Devious, Bon Mot and Msytico.
Ela-Mana-Mou as the Dam Sire also has increased success as a Dam Sire over Longer distances.
If you still like Dosage, then the DP also indicates stamina with 8 professional points.
Good Luck

The heavy(described as’very sticky’) ground at Doncaster must cast suspicion on how useful speed ratings for this meeting will turn out to be.
Only the 2.00, 8f handicap produced a 90+ rating, recorded by the horse that finished second, Capable Guest(91). Not a bad effort for a horse with form on better ground. The winner, Mia’s Boy(89), showed much improved form and could easily follow up. Seems to handle any surface, although I would want it heavy again for maximum confidence.Kempton’s AW surface produced some fast times and notable Topspeed ratings. The track seemed to be riding very fast and some of these ratings looked rather high, several horses producing career best figures. My own feelings, borne of experience, are that these ratings will have no great bearing on the early season turf races except to verify the well being of horses.
Two turf horses to note from Nad Al Sheba’s Saturday card. Finsceal Beo(110) showed that she retains her ability and is worth keeping in mind. Creachadoir(114) produced a career best rating and is another who could be winning early in the season.
Earlier meetings in Dubai have been rated and I’ll be looking over those meetings this week.
March 31, 2008 at 13:49 #154725Hi Artemis
I have Mia’s Boy improving according to my Class Ratings.
Last Two AW ratings were 141,140 and Mia’s Boy jumped to 161 on Saturday.
Good Luck

March 31, 2008 at 15:37 #154753The turf racing at Nad Al Sheba this year has not produced too many notable time performances. The only two horses that appeal as possible bets in the next five or six weeks are Gower Song and Mourilyan.
Gower Song(111) is at the top of her game at the moment and ran creditably in a Group 1 last Saturday. She should be able to win a Group 3 while she’s in such good heart.
Mourilyan(112), who finished behind Gower Song, has improved markedly from last season during his stay in Dubai. There should be some good races to be won with him in Ireland this season.
Both horses are likely to have a short break. I would be interested in both of them wherever they appear next.
