I’ve looked at the merits of the likely top two here.
Saint George ran a blinder in a white hot race at Ascot and may take all the beating today.
There must have been rain at hq last night as it was torrential in other parts of the east.
But the west has its own microclimate and is normally drier.
Tower of London had a pace maker in the Ulster derby so I’ve taken the form with some salt. As there was very little quality in that field and Tower of London will likely have to improve hugely to win here.
Another runner of interest is Klondike (each way) third to Gregory at goodwood. Jointly owned by connections of the tower.Saint George to frank the ascot form and win

Because of the prohibitive price the distance margin is the only way to get with this horse.
Ground not an issue as he’s won on yielding before.
He is evens to win by 10+ lengths and will hopefully enjoy this slalom track.

Mist of lir is drawn in stall 10 and has had a long list of decent runs behind some good sorts.
Stall 9 is a non jigger and is also weighted above my selection.
