Always disappointing when the soul selection doesn’t run well so here is the bonus choice from the regular selections thread…

16/58September 7, 2021 at 10:11 #1559394Shying away from Willie Mullins for the time being.
Madonna each way
In the finale tonight at Galway.
She has to overcome the unbeaten Mullins horse who drops down to maiden flat company from a grade three novice hurdle win. Also won a bumper and maiden hurdle. All those wins over 2 miles plus.
Madonna has a more conventional route via maidens but the horses she has faced are now rated 96 plus and she was not far behind them.
A long lay off to overcome and Seamie Heffernan takes the reins and I think this one has a better than average chance of getting placed here.
Lots of trainers up for this including son Joseph.
Mullins horse has been pulled and Madonna’s odds have contracted to 5/1 from 9s.
So a revision of the race means two selections here.
The unraced stablemate
Catch comes into consideration.Madonna win

September 8, 2021 at 09:40 #1559520Wrens Breath
Doncaster 3.25
Maximum win bet 7)1
I think as this is such a competitive heat with plenty in front of this one that the price may well reach 9/1 or better come the off. The well may need revisiting later depending on the terms of the bet
Looks a very interesting runner in this group 3 and if Hollie Doyle takes the trainer’s advice to the letter this one will be finishing late and decisively at the end. Take a look at her run last time out in Ireland.
https://www.racingtv.com/news/wren-s-breath-is-impressive-at-naas Taken off her feet and struggling from the start, the penny dropped approaching the final furlong. She settled into her stride and accelerated past rivals crossing the line with jockey attempting to put the brakes on. Wrens Breath was having nothing of it and ran on around the bend before finally being pulled a fair distance away. ( Jumped path and eased down) Further looked a necessity and she gets it here. Henry De Bromhead has gone the whole hog and pushed her into a group three from listed company and she goes into this contest with sweet enough as the only unrated runners up against proven horses rated in the low hundreds. She has champions day entries and the sky could be the limit. Lots of imponderables here and the ground will be very firm but every chance against her own sex.
De Bromhead is 20% in this sphere.
There will be a saver to follow.
Saver and it’s a good one
Loch Lein
Each way
This horse has a CV to die for.
close up finishes to St Marks Basllica, snowfall on first two runs
romantic proposal, sonaiyla and more besides.
Might just enjoy the kickback from the good ground having done best on soft up to now.
First max win bet on the thread goes down but Loch Lein is a winner each way at 22/1 I told you the CV was “to die for”

It was this stable’s clear intention to win the race on debut, one they had taken the previous year under Jim Crowley. Was given a hands and heels ride and held up
They didn’t reckon on being usurped by a 100/1 shot and just failed by a neck.
Aiming to make amends here with a more positive ride.
Missed the break and had to settle for second

26.98 %September 10, 2021 at 14:11 #1559858This may well be the last time that Stradivarius graces a racetrack this afternoon and even though he is past his best. It would be very unfortunate were he not to sign off in decent fashion.
Hopefully he will go out on top today.
Ascot would be a better venue but so long as the horse comes home safely all good.

Never a doubt, a comfortable winner.

Luttrell Lad win
Has been running very well to win two bumpers before finishing 4th at Aintree in a class 1 bumper. So if schooled well will be hard to beat at this level.
The other notable runner is
Whistleinthedark. Win
Ex Irish who made an eye catching debut at Exeter, so much so that the jockey was disciplined for schooling in public and horse was banned for 42 days.
Been off for well over 100 days so must have been priming this one for a decisive return.
Has already jumped off over points in Ireland and has placed form there.
Winner most likely to come from one of these two.

Bloodless victory for Luterell lad followed home by whistleinthedark.
Whistleinthedark if not hit too hard by the assessor ( and he probably won’t be) a very likely winner next time out, but in any case can stay in this sphere and be found a race.September 14, 2021 at 19:45 #1560519Wolverhampton

Been off since may when fith behind a who’s who of the juvenile scene including perfect power, fearby at Newcastle.
Newcastle the accepted all weather track for horses progressing to listed and group class.
Even with minimal improvement really ought to be a step ahead of this field.

Considering this one was off since may, the difference between his level and the field was noticable. An amazing price 100/30.

Fancy Foundations is taken to mark Gordon Elliotts return with a win here.
The two main rivals have both run up to 136.
But the Mullins horse Antey makes enough mistakes to oppose. Blackstairs rocco ran to within an ace of beating magiloney over hurdles last time.
But all told I fancy foundations to lay the groundwork for a good win here.

Hard to see past these three and if they all stand their ground should provide a return on the trifecta. Getting the right order will increase the return! The three undisputed leading trainers this season, go head to head
Johnny Murtagh, Ger Lyons and Jessica Harrington.
Certainly worth checking the market just in case of a mover.September 16, 2021 at 13:31 #1560655They went without Pirate Jenny and the top two settled down to fight it out and the race was put to bed by Sablonne after initial good running by Celebrate in style. (One for the notebook).
With no trifecta offered in the race and Pirate Jennys withdrawn the Selections fought out a forecast karkiyna the runner up.

9/2 general 4/1Horse copped a 42 day ban for schooling in public and came back out in June with a flat win which covered all the costs. That run puts him spot on for a win on return to hurdles.
No way will this one go off favourite with Davy Russell on the comeback trail for Gordon Elliott on the Greek. The Greek has been beaten Favourite the last three runs and is worth opposing. The selection is a multiple flat winner and aquitted himself well on hurdles debut going like a train at the end to finish fourth (33/1). Trainer stated he was delighted with the run. (off course on the day.) and that the jockey may have taken his instructions too literally…
The horses he ran behind were quality runners attaining marks around 126 and upwards.
I will be surprised if this horse doesn’t make the frame at least. May well drift closer to the off time as there will be strong support for Escha peska and the Greek.
Saver bet is a combination trifecta the three above named runners
Remiss to forget The Banger Doyle..
So revised selection one comb trifecta with The Banger Doyle, wild shot and Escka peshca without the Greek.
and another to include all four.
Stayed prominent throughout until breather late on then remounted challenge to be near up at last then sprawled on landing lost all chance recovered to finish distant third thats racing…..September 17, 2021 at 15:26 #1560756Bonus selection

Even though the form is debatable given he was gifted the race, the fact remains he took the opportunity well and won his race. Both clear of the field.
The fact that the second broke the track record for juveniles here yesterday, means he’ll have the confidence and a great chance to frank the form here.September 19, 2021 at 15:33 #1560958Plumpton

I’m indebted to Batchelors Hall for the comprehensive preview from which I’ve gleaned much information. (One valued forum member who does not clog up the website with useless non racing related claptrap)
The selection I take responsibility for however.Impulsive one
WinSums me up really.
But this new recruit to the ranks is the highest rated flat runner here and has gone from Haggas to Henderson so won’t want for good schooling. Has a win under the belt on the flat and ran up to 81.
Prey For Glory each way
The best bred runner with a pedigree which includes a grade one triumph hurdle third. No suprise if this one runs away with a race in time.Impulsive One wins easily
An impressive winner went about business well to win with any amount in hand looks the type to defy penalty on next appearance. 9/4 7/2–11/4 sp23/79
