Gord,
… CS, i’d wager you’re a better tipster than Gord. Thanks Aragorn but I’ve probably been at at a lot longer than TAPK, but we can both help others show a profit
"If I can help others as I pass by on my way, I’ll be a better person for doing so"….that’s always been my motto
July 29, 2010 at 13:38 #309666Very diplomatic Ginge. Gord does get a bit annoying though. I’m not claiming to be a great tipster either.
July 29, 2010 at 20:22 #309809Me, diplomatic Aragorn. Must be learning something from Drone.
Whenever he disagrees with me, it always feels he’s agreeing with me at the same time.
Value Is EverythingJuly 30, 2010 at 01:09 #309853CS, i’d be willing to bet that Gord has been at it at least as long. He just hasn’t admitted he’s useless yet…. Most punters reach a point when they know they’ll never win fortunes but might turn a steady profit – The day our self appointed talker gets there we’ll have a sensible conversation!!!
The irony of it all is that he really believes he’s turning a profit – Notice how he hasn’t managed a reply yet….

July 30, 2010 at 13:20 #309956Harbinger paid a big compliment there by the Gosden Group 2 horse.

Buick couldnt settle any horse never mind Duncan.
Fortune / Hughes would of won on him..
Why on earth Gosden got rid of Fortune for Buick is a mystery…
July 30, 2010 at 13:36 #309961Hi Cav
Just a reminder of something I said on a different thread after the Hardwicke.
Duncan is a funny horse, and dependent on your view of him will have a massive effect on how positively you view the Hardwicke. My take on him, is that he is a very talented horse, he was beaten little distance at all in the 2009 Coronation Cup. Since then though I think he’s looked quirky, giving himself no chance in last year’s Princess of Wales’ at the July meeting. Similarly his reappearance he gave the impression he could, and probably should have gone past Barshiba as and when he liked, but hung badly and didn’t relish a battle. Saturday’s race for me was a chance for Duncan to be seen to his very best, a well-run race for him to quicken off and an superior to chase to keep him interested. His comprehensive defeat of Barshiba suggested he improved markedly on his reappearance form. I’d probably want to be against him if he’s short next time in a race that wouldn’t be sure to go so much his way.
Getting a handle on a horse’s characteristics can sometimes show you something than reams and reams of data never will.
July 30, 2010 at 13:44 #309964Thanks for the reminder DJ. I might remind you I don’t recall putting up any "data" on this horse. In fact I expressed a formbook based opinion, no? Group 2 horse. And he’s proved it again today.

Held up next time on a flat track with ABB onboard I think he will have his day in the winners enclosure yet this year…

If you see any posts from "Gingertips" on another forum Drone, it isn’t me.
Wish I had your tact and diplomacey Drone.
Actually got one between the posts today with Redwood.
Two more hit the bar though (2nds) from just 3 races.Whether you look at Duncan (going well when stopped in his run) or Redwood (behind Sans Frontiers in the Princess Of Wales and before that the Hardwicke). Another boost for Harbinger.

Zero-pace loser who cant quicken when he needs to, more like.

He’ll get it right eventually in a weak Group 2.

I was actually going to post a topic last night about if Duncan lost would if harm the Harbinger form but didnt because of the nature of horse that Duncan is.. He likely to throw in a shocker.
I dare say things will fall right for Duncan before the season is out, but at the same time could equally put in a shocker…
I personally dont think it lessesn Harbinger at all although he is now 15/8 for the Arc with Sporting Bet, some people last week were saying he will be odds on come the day itself. Fill your boots I guess.
July 31, 2010 at 21:34 #310287Last week it was all about Workforce. Brilliant horse, unbeatable, broke the course record, the new Shergar. This week it is all about Harbinger.Brilliant horse, unbeatable, broke the course record, the new …….Racing is a short term memory sport.
July 31, 2010 at 21:46 #310297Workforce was only rated by Timeform at 132p, Harbinger is 140. There’s a big difference, one was of promise, the other did it.

They’ve both done it and neither has reproduced yet.
Any news on Workforce and why he went so wrong at Ascot?
