There isn’t one 2m Nov Chase for him to run in? If they need any kind of run, then what about an A/W race?
February 8, 2025 at 13:46 #1720101More likely to be a racecourse gallop than an AW race.
February 8, 2025 at 13:46 #1720102Fitzy just quoted Sir Gino was sound this morning so Ruby butts in and asks why isn’t he at Newbury then?

The more I know the less I understand.
February 8, 2025 at 14:26 #1720111Quite. I suspect other trainers would have run him but Henderson has to make a drama out of it.
February 8, 2025 at 21:34 #1720158A bit of an odd reply from Ruby if he said that. If Mullins withdrew one of his horses earlier in the week for banging a joint, not knowing when he was going to recover fully, and it so happened he was better on the Saturday would he say to his former trainer “why isn’t he running today if he is alright today?” I don’t think so.
February 8, 2025 at 22:12 #1720159Highly likely that the vet would have treated him with either a painkiller or an anti-inflammatory drug when the injury was first found. That would have ruled him out of running for anything up to seven days, depending on what was used, as it would still have been in his system.
And as we all know, Henderson is absolutely scrupulous about not breaching the drug rules.
February 9, 2025 at 10:07 #1720168Nicky was interviewed on Luck On Sunday earlier and said that Sir Gino’s wound hasn’t cleared up as quickly as expected, and the horse is still a bit sore this morning.
Might go straight to Cheltenham without another run.

Racecourse gallop it is, then.
February 9, 2025 at 11:11 #1720175Get on the winner, L’Eau Du Sud.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 9, 2025 at 11:13 #1720176Did Ruby also ask how Lossiemouth miraculously recovered from a sore foot within a week to beat Teahupoo on the bridle.
Double standards me thinks.February 9, 2025 at 13:31 #1720185Skeltons horse isn’t winning going by yesterday’s run , he’s he jumped nicely but he’s going to get done up that hill Ginge…
February 9, 2025 at 13:46 #1720187Times, HDLG.
Both overall times and sectional. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek, but I do think his chance is considerably underestimated by the market purely because of the big two. Should be a single figure price.
LDS doesn’t have the scope for lots of improvement that both Sir Gino or Majborough have. But as it stands right now his form is up there with or at least just behind that illustrious pair.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 9, 2025 at 14:06 #1720188He’s dominated small fields Ginge , I do like how he jumps but he just doesn’t have the class of Sir Gino , he could get 2nd though as I don’t think JPs horse can jump
February 10, 2025 at 02:31 #1720232Gino wipes the floor with LDS. If Gino runs of course!
10’s is excellent value allowing for the possibility Gino doesn’t line up.
February 10, 2025 at 08:49 #1720237I honestly can’t see L’eau Du Sud getting within 10L of the two market leaders.
February 10, 2025 at 09:18 #1720238I backed L’Eau Du Sud at 11/1 for the Arkle after he won at Cheltenham. I had sort of given up on the bet after Sir Gino brushed aside Ballyburn at Kempton but I am a little bit more interested in it now.
It looks like Sir Gino will be going into the Arkle after only one start over fences. That is far from ideal. There is also Majborough to consider but I am not sure about his jumping and he looks like more of a stayer.
If Sir Gino can reproduce his Kempton effort, he will win. But I agree with Ginger that L’Eau Du Sud is overpriced.
It will be interesting to see what price Sir Gino is on the day (assuming he lines up). If he had started and won well on Saturday, he would be 1/2 or shorter now. But given his lack of experience, he must be a favourite the bookmakers will be looking to take on so early in the meeting. He was out to 2.12 on Betfair last night to small money but is back into 1.96 now.
February 10, 2025 at 12:45 #1720247Gino out for the season.
Majborough 8/13 with LDS 11/2 best prices on oddschecker.
Not sure that’s reflective of LDS chance personally. I’ll be taking some of that on the day if it’s available.
