formath what is your opinion on akarem in the november handicap used to watch for these type before i did vdw,s ability ratings top 3 in ability down 15lbs in the weights from start of season, first show of form in a long while unusual to see an ability rating so far down the handicap

Almost missed your query.

IMO Akarem is at the bottom of runners in the mid-range of the hcap and priced as though connections have not got a lot of confidence,

My simple, quick shortlist would be – Pippa Greene, Malt Or Mash, Sanbuch, Heaven Knows.

Top put a little flesh on the bones, it looks quite an unbalanced hcap with only a third of the field in the top half of the weights, tight though as Formcast rates the field with in 8lbs. As to hcap class; 1-3 are racing below class, 4-15 in their class, 16-23 above class. 14 is an absentee. On hcap weight/betting forecast 1-6 would appear to have a hard task today.

Not had time to go through the individual weight changes but apart from that all of my shortlist remain in witha chance IMO.

It was a poor day at the office for form horses today except for the two class 2 races, which accords with my view that form horses are generally more consistent in better class races.

I have never done anything with the Formcast ratings except to use them as such, mainly because they are readily available to me, except on Sunday’s of course. I do have some correspondence off a Formcast enthusiast from years ago and I will check to see if there is anything that might interest you.
