Just want to generate some horse racing discussion. Any opinions yerself??
December 19, 2009 at 10:13 #264479Hmmm not sure………if he did then Jonjo would fall off the map (was discussing this yesterday with a mate). Would be a shame as Jonjo is of course a NH icon. I take it you don rate him much as a trainer?. For the amount of horses JP has, he has a lot of not very good horses.
December 19, 2009 at 10:49 #264483I think JP and jonjo have a mutually beneficial arrangement. JP is more interested in winners than horses, if you get my meaning.
December 19, 2009 at 11:12 #264488thats the way i think ,jonjo has lots of moderate horses.that are well placed and a.p likes to ride lots of winners, and all he is interested in is being top jock year after year, good luck to him i say

Jonjo is forever shrined in that day in 86. He cant go higher. A far superior pilot than a trainer. Capable enough but just doesnt do it for me. I must admit he did a FINE training performance with that lovely horse Exorric dancer – a superstar of a horse for me and only for Kauto was around he would have been lauded high and low. Certainly piqued (Not peaked) my interest and Grasshoppers too. Lovely horse. But – jonjo? Nah – Id send me horses to lots and lots of trainers before Jonjo. Hobbs, Henderson, Meade, Rothwell, Nolan, Colm Murphy etc etc All these boys are ahead of Jonjo. JP has done well for himself since the days of schleppin’ around Leopardstown lookin’ for a light after Jack of Trumps fell but he cud do better than Jonjo very easily.
December 19, 2009 at 11:30 #264491looking to Ireland JP (apart from the good ones), has a lot of very moderate horses. it’s hard to win races with bad’uns. I’d be taking a deeper look as to where he gets them all from. don’t think any trainer is at fault.jmo.

Away Fist. Knew you’d be comin’ out backin up Jonjo. Hes a very mediocre trainer and you know it. Feck JP the lispin Limerick kent. He hasnt a decent horse. Jonjo is middle of the road trainer and der are a LOT more telented trainers out there.

December 19, 2009 at 12:30 #264505Sawguid, Ted.
December 19, 2009 at 12:33 #264506Marcel Rolland’s done well for him too 3/3 Rock Noir – a Grade 1, a Grade 3 and a listed hurdle. Let’s see what Jonjo does with the horse.
December 19, 2009 at 12:37 #264508Jon-jo placed Ayemdee beautifully yesterday to win at Uttoxeter with young Mclernon riding,he was the only horse that had the scope to win such a poor race and duly did!No financial interest, just a watching brief.Give J,J,O"Neill the horse and he will get the best out of it!Including the fine athletic looking Black Jack Ketchum, who just lacked scope!

Any word fae underscere hopper??
December 19, 2009 at 15:27 #264543What JP should do is support Irish Points….which he is not doing!!!!!!!!…..and stop breeding rubbish and go out and support small farmers. For example if he had bought every Willie Burke horse that he has sold he would be in a much better position than he is now.
Then he should give all his horses out of England and move them to Gordon Elliott. To a young up and coming trainer ala Magnier with Aidan O Brien. And Elliott bring ship loads to england every year anyhow so it would work well. Also he could do the same with most of his horses in Ireland. Give them to Charlie Swan or Willie or Noel Meade or even Jessica Harrington. Stop with this scatter gun approach to training horses it clearly is not working. And give most to one stable and a few other to a few other stables.
