Of course, the actual time of Golden Cygnet’s Supreme would be conclusive – I believe Monksfield won the Champion in 4:12.7 secs.

From memory at the time and I’ll glady stand corrected, Golden Cygnet was time was 3 seconds faster

I suggest anyone who hasn’t seen Golden Cygnet should view the Supreme win on you tube

If you didn’t see it you wouldn’t believe it

He’ll stick to novice company at cheltenham then race in the Punchestown champion hurdle later in the season.

Chasing? This horse can barely make it over a hurdle. His jumping scares me, I have this awful premonition that he’ll come to a high profile end.
If he were mine I’d put him away till Royal Ascot.

That’s interesting, Vintner. Do you think he could be a cup horse? And with the Ascot course most likely to be riding pretty fast, how do you think he’d handle it? You’d ignore the penalty kick of the Supreme Novice for a flat campaign?

Fist; I think that Mr Wilson was agreeing more with my respect for the trainers integrity than any comparisons with Golden Cygnet. I wasn’t meaning to make a comparison with Golden Cygnet, it was more a concern over racing novices at such a level in general.

I was, didn’t realise Fist was such an agressive individual, I genuinely feel threatened.

is he likely to stay hurdling or go chasing? I’d agree his hurdling techniwque is much less fluent than Golden Cygnet at this stage of their careers, but he seems equally superior to his peers.
I haven’t seen him in the flesh, is he big enough for chasing?

From memory the article I read about him said that his front legs weren’t very good [conformation wise] so perhaps he’s in the ‘Attraction’ mould of horse [although it didn’t slow her down!]. Made me think that that’s why his jumping isn’t very fluent.

He’s got a much better action than Monksfield who was one of the best hurdlers of all time.
