Even if this cuts up, it will still be a lot better than last years. I do like Nube Negra in this, and I’ve taken 13-2 each way
November 17, 2023 at 12:51 #1670730Cracking race in prospect; it’s basically the Champion Chase without the Irish.
If Edwardstone is back to his best, he wins. Editeur Du Gite and Jonbon will set it up nicely for him, in my opinion, and Nube Negra isn’t good enough. Alan King sounded reasonably confident on the Nick Luck podcast yesterday, so that’ll do for me.
November 17, 2023 at 23:03 #1670785I agree Gladiateur. I’m a big Editeur Du Gite fan, but I don’t think he’ll trouble Edwardstone. I’ll enjoy this without a bet
November 18, 2023 at 15:20 #1670919I’ve taken 8-1 on Nube Negra
November 18, 2023 at 16:44 #1670933Will be a watcher but am a big fan of Edwardstone.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 19, 2023 at 13:02 #1671024Edwardstone for me too. In this small field he can stalk Jonbon and time his Lunge.
Edwardstone 10/3
November 19, 2023 at 13:58 #1671038No play and id love to see Nubre to win however I expect Jonbon to prevail , it’s a big day for Edwardstone , needs to get his career back on track
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 19, 2023 at 15:02 #1671057Nice return from Jonbon.
November 19, 2023 at 15:03 #1671058Wow! Might as well just hand him the Tingle Creek trophy now. He skipped over them for fun.
November 19, 2023 at 15:10 #1671059I hope Edwardstone’s connections give it another go in the Tingle Creek, instead of stepping up in trip for the Peterborough Chase.
Edwardstone looked in need of the run, but made his ground smoothly before being left behind by the winner around the home turn. The fact that Nube Negra was closing on him again up the hill suggests that he simply got tired today.
Not saying he’ll beat Jonbon, who was very impressive, at Sandown, but it’ll be much closer than it was today.
November 19, 2023 at 16:16 #1671069That’s as good as Jonbon has jumped , I reckon he likes getting his toe in , on proper good ground it might just be happening to quickly
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 19, 2023 at 16:21 #1671073Impressive turn of foot by Jonbon at the top of the hill. Looked a bit better again. As he should if he wants to challenge El Fabiolo.
November 19, 2023 at 17:04 #1671079Very slick performance from Jonbon today I thought, on the whole it was the best round of jumping I have seen from him.
Felt Edwardstone will come on a lot more for that run though, he is a bull of a horse compared to the slimmer Jonbon and being that this was his first run since March and with the jockey looked after him off the home turn, I would expected significant improvement for his next run….hopefully they will still go to the Tingle Creek and I think he can get a lot closer but whether it will be enough to turn the tables is open to doubt.
November 19, 2023 at 17:11 #1671080De Boinville made a huge difference on him today. I don’t rate Coleman in the slightest. I feel he rarely got the best from Epatante either.
