He Didnt Like Ground.

Rouge Vif has been soundly beaten by PTKO a couple of times but that was on unsuitably soft ground. He has beaten Nuge Negra before, likes this course, should love the ground and is not too badly off at the weights. I wonder if PTKO might be vulnerable on her first run even though she should also like the ground. Rouge Vif is reportedly keen going at home so hopefully got himself fit enough. Bryony to bounce him out in front, ping the fences and stay on up the hill to fend off the opposition, Cobden to end up with a face like a smacked bottom after picking the wrong one.
November 14, 2021 at 10:56 #1567508I don’t think they would have travelled PTKO over if she was in any way undercooked and I think she’ll be very hard to beat. Interesting to see how Rouge Vif gets on for Nicholls who showed with Lalor that he can revive them. Politologue has had issues (bled and wind op) and it’d be great if he could be competitive again this season but time catches up with them all in the end.

November 14, 2021 at 11:41 #1567515I’m in the Nubre Negra camp , PTKO should never be underestimated at Cheltenham but she comes alive in the spring so I’m confident Nubre can make up for a unlucky run in the Champion , Rouge Vif is a good horse on this day but just below champion chase class while politilogue will surely the need the run most out of the whole field

November 14, 2021 at 12:31 #1567534I’ve always liked Politologue. I don’t think that it is out of the question that he can spring a shock here at 9-2
November 14, 2021 at 14:26 #1567567I think Harry enjoyed that

November 14, 2021 at 14:27 #1567568Wwll done HDLG, that was decisive. PTKO not just lacking fitness, never at the races. Old Politi ran a cracker. Disappointed with Rouge Vif, they didn’t adopt the tactics I thought they would qnd he didn’t jump as well as he can, albeit not good enough anyway.
November 14, 2021 at 14:31 #1567570I don’t see anyone beating Shiskin but Nubre is one of the few who may make him work , PTKO looked liked she had just come straight from the field , never seen her jump so badly , Rouge Vif just isn’t this class but if Nicholls places him well theres still plenty of races to be won with him
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 14, 2021 at 16:25 #1567596PTKO was largely unimpressive in this last year in a weaker field, just scrambled home from Duc Des Genevries if you recall not that I particularly fancy her to defend her crown as you say Shishkin and Energuermene to come into the division and we’ve not seen the best of Chacun at Cheltenham yet either, still finished 3rd last year despite appearing to run well below his ability.
November 14, 2021 at 16:28 #1567599Tinman chacun didn’t get up the hill in my view , no doubt we,ll see a a different PTKO but she,s likely going to be run by in a deeper race this year , it looks like the race of the meeting at this point
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 14, 2021 at 17:15 #1567607Don’t think we can conclusively say chacun doesn’t like the track yet
They got the tactics completely wrong with him
His 2 weapons are his brilliant jumping and his cruising speed, he needs to be ridden aggressively to utilise those
November 14, 2021 at 17:58 #1567612FF would you want to play him against horses that do like Cheltenham though ….he,s one of the worst value horses for Cheltenham 2022
