You have got yourself very confused here Troy my boy. I have generally Socialist leanings politically, yet I can assure you not one person who knows me would describe me as having a “woke” cell in my body.

The word “woke”‘s meaning has changed quite a bit recently, TTC.
As far as I understand:
It used to mean someone who is awake to racial and social injustice. Knowing what’s happening. In that respect woke sounds more a compliment. You could say Troy is right it used to be a word used by many on the left as a cry to keep woke, keep awake to racial and social injustice.
However, it is now used more as a derisory term to describe people who complain about anything and everything as racial or social injustice – in what many see as an overly politically correct way. ie A word describing people that seemingly search for stuff that could be twisted to mean something racist, homophobic etc. Describing people that like to think the worst of what someone has said or done; instead of thinking the best of those words or actions. Therefore, it is now used mostly by the right to describe many things the left say and do.
Might be wrong but that is how I see the word.
Just how I was “woke” on this thread.
Value Is EverythingI’m a socialist, but I believe nowadays I am classed as a racist. For example, I have a daughter. And when she is old enough to be dating, I would prefer her not to be picked up by a Muslim man in a Thobe and Headscarf carrying the Quran. I’m aware that many would judge me as Racist for this in todays world.
Hence this lazy linking of ‘woke’ and ‘the left’ is stupid.

I wouldn’t necessarily call racist what you describe there TTC.
I’d say most parents would “prefer” their daughters and sons to be in a relationship with someone of their own religion. But many “socialists” would wrongly describe your feelings as right wing.
Also, a muslim can be of any race.
However, if someone is prejudiced against muslims would be islamaphobic.
Value Is EverythingI’m prejudiced to a certain extent I suppose, but I certainly do not hate anyone. Apart from Grimsby Town fans.
