Hannon’s horses ran dreadful today I don’t think he got a winner did he out of 12 entries?
Just a note on Somebody To Love who ran in the first race at Newmarket won by Richard Fahey’s Clef, she looks as though she has a lot of growing to do, the smallest filly in the paddock and looked very undeveloped, I think she’s going need the winter to do some filling out and perhaps come back as a 3yo. Although she’s been highly tried against Roly Poly and Nation’s Alexander (last) she really did nothing impressive in those races and doesn’t seem to have progressed beyond Class 5 or 4 at a push.
Look out for the 2nd filly High On Love if she reverts back to 6 furlongs next time out as she was a standout in the paddock and Shozita (big white face and four lovely white stockings..very pretty) just didn’t get up the hill in the last furlong and would probably be best back at 6 furlongs
Better luck for next week at York..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 13, 2016 at 23:33 #125973813 losers today.
Mr Scaramanga ran with credit, needs stepping up a furlong or so.
Somebody To Love was carrying a stone more than the fav, I hadn’t noticed her size, a good advantage going racing to see the differences between the horses. Thanks for the report Jac.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
August 13, 2016 at 23:48 #1259740It really was quite a shock to see how small she was Nathan. My friend had her pencilled in as a winner too but decided against when she saw her, we both did Shozita but she didn’t get up the hill in the finish but stayed on to be 3rd and will be better back at 6f.
That was a lot of extra weight to carry for such a small filly no wonder she struggled, maybe towards end of season she will get some respite.
If only there was a betting site that gave paddock previews for every race I think we’d all be quids in.

I’ve re-posted my comments on the 2yo Summary Thread just to keep a note for future ref..Jac
