That’s fantastic. There’s precious little footage of old American steeplechase races from before 2008 (when the NSA started archiving them on its website). Only ones I’ve been able to find on Youtube are the 1986 Breeders Cup Steeplechase broadcast on NBC ( ) and the 1977/1978 (Ben Nevis II) Maryland Hunt Cup.
I can’t help but wonder how Sea Pigeon would do at Springdale today. The Carolina/Colonial Cup meets were among the last holdouts of "real" steeplechase fences in this country but the course was finally forced by budget constraints to switch over to movable hurdles a few years ago.
