The papers seem to be concentrating on teh unbeaten New South Wales after his hard fought win yesterday, but i was more impressed with another Oxx inmate in Sea Dart. In what looked a decent maiden on paper, he travelled well, quickened up in poorish ground and won going away by about 3.5 lengths. O’Brien saddled teh next two home. Dalcassian, 3rd here, was previously 2nd ot Powerscourt who advertised the form in the racing post trophy at the weekend Possibly the form cant be taken at face value – powerscourt seems a much improved animal. But Sea Dart has improved past Monseignor Phil who beat him firat time up. It would be interesting to see if there were any late season 2yo races for him – options thin on the ground. He is striking animal that wouldnt surprise me to see him make into a decent group winning 3yo.
Wayalef was exteremly unlucky in the New South Wales raced, looked to have the fiedl covered before being given no room to move about 2 furlongs out. She would have been in the shakeup and remains a filly of serious potential.
