    Entries…………

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/scottish-grand-national/winner

Definitely in no rush for an Antepost yet, as I read this wrong even before entries came out, with not one of my shortlist of seven, getting an entry.

Shortlist of six at the moment with,

    Chameron
    Famous Bridge
    Flash Collonges
    Flower of Scotland
    Mighty Thunder
    Streets of Doyen

I’ll, as usual, pay close attention to anything Sandy Thomson sends here, and Flower of Scotland would be my definite #1 of his right now, but as he’s ground dependent, I’m happy to wait. Mighty Thunders price should hold, so I can wait with him, for all he’s maybe overpriced at the moment, with him slowly improving each run. Streets of Doyen has other options coming up, so no rush with him either.

That whittles it down to three recent winners. Nice performance from Flash Collonges at Newbury, while Famous Bridge is going the right way big time. No way is he a 25-1 shot. As for Chameron, he’s the rank outsider at 66’s, but I loved his attitude at Hexham last week over a short enough trip, and I’ll definitely be backing him. No rush with him though as he’s unlikely to shorten much, but he’s still likely to be getting an Antepost from me.

No bet yet, but with Flash Collonges likely to have other options, it’ll almost be Famous Bridge and/or Chameron

    Famous Bridge

Be careful with Flower of Scotland , I read in the local Ayrshire paper that she may go again for the hurdle race , seems strange to me but maybe best to play when decs out

I’ve tried to get a bit more into the jumps this year, but I’ll draw the line at having two ap bets in this, before the declaration stage tomorrow. So the bet is Your Own Story at 12-1. The one I almost added was a horse I bet quite often in Dusart. He’s already cost me money this season, so I will bet him tomorrow if he looks more likely to be going. He did win at the meeting last year so that’s of some encouragement

Henderson has been quite vocal on saying this has been Dusarts long term goal , he’ll be a play and will be topped up by Flower of Scotland and Empire Steel , if ever a yard deserved a change of luck

Bet Chameron at the weekend for this, but luckily spotted his entry today, and was able to cash out. Taking that as an omen, and not touching this now before Final Decs.

From original shortlist, Mighty Thunder getting bet just now, but I’ll not join in, for all I reckon I’ll miss that 25’s.

If anything, shortlist longer now, and with a very dry looking week ahead, I’ll hold off.

Ignoring the Cheltenham run, Coolvalla E/W my AP stab in the dark..nice low weight.

Edit: to add tomorrow Notachance, looking for best places around 20’s, ran well at UTT in the Midlands national.

    Trying a new approach.

So had a ew bet on Flower Of Scotland (15/1) and Sail Away (28/1) (5 places)

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.

    Added Flash Collonges 14s.
Good run last time at Newbury on good ground (albeit a small field); Ayr looks dry for the next couple of days.

Best of luck to all :good:

Kitty’s Light gets his conditions and is still well treated. You can put a line through everything he does in the Autumn and Winter on soft ground. This is very much his race, for all the price isn’t overly enticing.

Coolvalla would be my other go.

As the big race of the jumps season in Scotland I should get enthusiastic about this race, but it’s much of a muchness this year. Was hoping for a lot of rain to suit Flower Of Scotland, but sun shining up here right now and the going will be nearer Good than Soft.

Ratings figures I have are as follows:

    162 Monbeg Genius
    160 Ruthless Article
    160 Cap Du Nord
    157 Flash De Touzaine
    157 Manothepeople
    156 Undersupervision

Possibly best of these might be Manothepeople 20/1, progressive, lightly raced and hints that the step up in trip with suit nicely.

Malina Girl at 12/1 is my first bet. That run in the ulster National hinted at more to come, and the run of vanillier confirmed that Cromwell has them in decent order

My second string at 22/1 is Magna Sam. I liked his win at Musselburgh, and he has no fears over the trip.
