Epatante the big name here, and I’d love to see her go, though the 16’s with Unibet suggests it ain’t happening. Stablemate First Street must have a good chance of going, after another big run in defeat in The County Hurdle. No surprise to see him near head of the market.
My main hope in The County Hurdle was Faivoir, and though well held in the end, I thought he ran well enough, and looks overpriced at 20’s.
I can see Nell’s Son definitely going after his Kelso win, and though I’d want bigger than 12’s at this stage, he’s one to look at on the day for me.
Anna Bunina was my bet in this last year, and I certainly got a run for my money. No surprise to see her back again, and hard to rule out, if she travelled over, though of the potential Irish Raiders, I particularly like Dreal Deal at 20’s. He’s very appealing here.
I’m not having an immediate bet here, but I’ll watch the market, and the weather forecast for one of the outsiders Alqamar. Very encouraging form at the start of the season, racking up a few wins on the bounce. Travelling very sweetly at Wetherby when last seen before rattling a hurdle, and getting rid of the jockey. Had Tommy’s Oscar in his sights that day, and thought he might just have had the beating of him. He got a Morebattle entry, but that never looked likely on Soft going. He’s got a fair bit of improvement to find, and for all he’s not the most obvious, I keep going back to him, and he’s my main hope just now.
Happy to throw a couple of quid the way of Alqamar just now, and if the forecast suits, I’d have a decent go at the five day stage.
Shortlist
Alqamar 33’s
Dreal Deal
FaivoirMarch 31, 2022 at 17:10 #1590509Not the strongest renewal of this contest and since one has an entry on Friday there may be only the 8 runners. Fairly tight but I have one progressive animal with a few ponuds in hand:
163 Barrichello
158 West Cork
158 Onemorefortheroad
157 Anna Bunina
156 Alqamar
155 MilkwoodBarrichello (best price 7/1) is progressive and handicap form has been franked.
March 31, 2022 at 21:53 #1590544Rob, I’m in complete agreement, and it’s the same bet for me
April 1, 2022 at 22:05 #1590678If Anna Bunina comes back to form she should have a decent chance here. Lower in the weights then last year and this must suit here. If think this is her target.
Anna Bunina 6/1

April 2, 2022 at 09:20 #1590736dbr, it’s the exact same for me with Anna Bunina 6-1
April 2, 2022 at 12:28 #1590773Voix de reve was dropped in grade last time and the win will have done him the world of good , he was 3rd off 156 in the hcap chase on the Fri last year , up 3 to 135 over hurdles this will have been the year long plan and I’ve played him e.w

April 2, 2022 at 21:07 #1590885Well done DBR and roses. The trainer has a few good ground horses. Anyone know why Streets of Doyen was a NR today?
