I like the look of the Scat Daddy filly Tesora, who was 2/2 last season. The trouble is that I don’t know much about the trainer Jonathan Thomas, or what the plans for the filly are?
She made a winning debut over 5F where she was slowly away but had the class to make up the ground and win. The runner up won well next time out.
I was surprised to see Tesora step up to a mile and a sixteenth for her next race. Normally that would be an alarming change of tack for me but watching the race it looked like the front two were going to fight it out but just as you thought one of them had got the better of it, Tesora burst through to claim both of them quite readily, showing no signs of stopping having tackled a little over three furlongs further than her first race.
You can see her debut race here, she is number 2 and second last at the start-

You wouldn’t have given her a prayer from where she came but apparently her closing sectional was exceptional.
You can view her 5th November race here and she is number six this time:-

She’s basically routed her field twice.

Any thoughts, feedback on the filly is appreciated and any information on the trainer and the horse’s targets very welcome. She looks highly promising and versatile.
Cheers.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 19, 2018 at 04:53 #1337990Jonathan Thomas only has a small stable (less than 10 horses) and races mostly allowance horses, based in Florida. Per Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners (the syndicate that owns Tesora) he’s put her on the shelf over the winter and will be targeting graded stakes company next.

I have a feeling Tesora is capable of winning in good company.
It would be almost unthinkable to see a UK trained horse win from such a position in a 5F race, yet manage to do the same at an extended mile not long afterwards.
Obviously a potent turn of foot will be more valuable at the mile distance, where 5F speed is less likely to be abundant amongst the runners. I will watch with interest.
Much appreciated.
