Well done winners. What a decent G1 race!!! Ran at a decent pace and the winner seems to relish the extra two and a half furlongs of the GC trip.

The KG looked like more like a decent 3m handicap.

Should Galvin now be Gold Cup favourite after that?

He has course form over 4f further than the Gold Cup trip itself, doesn’t seem to ground dependant and it looked like he needed all of today’s trip to get on top so a strongly run Gold Cup at Cheltenham looks right up his alley.

Quite a few of Henry De Bromhead’s horses have been below form lately. A Plus Tard didn’t pick up at all having travelled best throughout the race; wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a bug in the yard.

Who is the clown presenting RTV’s coverage today. Says A Plus Tard “lost nothing in defeat”.

I did not back him but I doubt anyone who piled in at odds on wanted to hear that!!

It was. Townend set a decent pace and everyone got a breather coming past the stands- no hard luck stories and the best horse on the day was the winner.

Galvin looks a class animal these days. Should relish the extra distance at Cheltenham as well, a track he usually likes.

Gladiateur, HDB only had 3 winners from about 60 runners in the past fortnight. This is pretty poor and his novices are starting all at rather astronomic prices.

Great comment about an 8-11 shot losing nothing in defeat…..

I see Cork noticed that one too. What an asinine comment; isn’t the guy in the studio today Anthony something?

Anthony Dunkley, I believe. Another of RTV’s terrible presenters to add to Stanley, Lightfoot et al.

Def fav for the GC in my book , last time was all about seeing if he could jump at championship pace and Frodon helped prove that , APT is a class animal but not a good enough stayer for a GC , the other plus for Galvin is he loves Cheltenham , I played the 16s for the GC this morning , I’ve already got him at bigger , also proved he was a G1 horse , be interesting to see what Elliott does with Delta work now , no point going GC , maybe worth a punt for the ryainair

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026

I dont mind bearded Stanley. Dunkley is one of the young ‘well spoken’ whippersnappers that show up now and again that add very little.

Just watched the replay for the third time today. What a prime example of a G1 race!!!

Galvin wasn’t staying on, he was FLYING inside the final 200 yards…..

Apparently the pace was steady and it turned into a bit of a sprint. That ought to have suited APT more than Galvin but Galvin won anyway.
