Just love A Plus Tard, and hard to see him getting beat here, so looking at EW at EW options then

Galvin, who’s my main Gold Cup bet at the moment is in there, so I’m not sure I have to get him here at 10’s, and maybe be happier cheering him on without a punt. He’d be hard to desert though. Stablemate Delta Work landed this two years back, and after Down Royal, I’d expect him to be ready here. 14’s is too big.

I’m giving serious consideration to Minella Times and Any Second Now .

I’ve already bet Minella Times for Gold Cup, and I can honestly see him going there, so no reason why he can’t take this in. I’m thinking of betting him for this early if he takes up his option in The John Durkan.

Any Second Now is harder to make a case for, but it’s been in the back of my mind that they might step out of handicaps this year, and although he’ll be ten, I can see him getting an entry for The Gold Cup. My only problem here is that I thought he’d be bigger than 40’s.

I’ve been following Janidil for a couple of years now, and I think that 33’s isn’t bad for a G1 winner last season, and one who should have a decent season.

No bet yet, but those are the ones interesting me right now.

If Kemboy was to run in the Durkan at the weekeend for a pipe-opener, i’d also have him in the “too big” camp.

Delta Work and him both caught my eye, as i suspect a few will be NRs in front of them in the market, Envovi + Indo.

    Not betting just yet.

Melon 20-1 ew. To use that old cliche, I think that this will be his Gold Cup

Melon is only 9; seems to have been around forever

I think that Delta Work will come on a ton for the run at Down Royal. I think that 14-1 is a great price

I was reluctant to bet anything in this with APT in there, but as daft as it sounds, I’ve bet Envoi Allen 14-1 ew. Just in the chance he runs here, and he has a return to form. I know how unlikely this bet looks right now.

Apologies, thought I’d put up the 14’s for Delta Work last week.

Also going with Janidil at 12’s, as although I’ve bet him for Gold Cup, and don’t see much point betting him here, that 12’s looks too big.

All about A Plus Tard surely though.

I’ll leave Galvin, as I’m happy with my Gold Cup bet alone for him.

    Delta Work 14’s
    Janidil 12’s

I’ve decided that 40-1 is a good ew bet for Samcro, though I think that might be down to too much Sherry in the trifle

Ill be taking on a plus tard, the betfair chase has a habit of throwing up strange results, albeit his wasnt a strange result, i dont believe the gold cup formline of 172 and i dont believe he ran 174 LTO, although im usually critical of the handicapper, i can see why they gave him it, IMO i think hes a 165-170 horse, which a few of these are/close to, so ill be laying a plus tard and backing galvin & janidil against

APT on this season form wins , I still think Galvin can do something in the GC and looks the value here , I reckon APT will win this but the GC …..he,s short enough

I’m joining Silver Spoon and Autumnal on good old Melon. He wasn’t quite at himself last year but perhaps today will be his big day (I’ve still gone ew though, just in case he doesn’t get to wear the white dress).

Well done ham, HDLG and Peter. The horse is a gutsy article isn’t he?
